| I've always been into guys like Gary Moore, Uli Roth, Frank Marino, Pat Travers, Robin Trower, Ted Nugent, etc. A lot of modern metal fans seem to discount this sort of style. Are there any fans here? Have any favorites?
Some of my favorites: Joe Perry Project - Let the Music Do the Talking Joe Perry Project - I've Got the Rock n Rolls Again Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush- What's Next Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush - Tales of the Unexpected Frank Marino - Juggernaut Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush - Live Robin Trower - Bridge of Sighs Ted Nugent's Amboy Dukes - Tooth Fang and Claw Ted Nugent - s/t Ted Nugent - Cat Scratch Fever Ted Nugent - Free For All Ted Nugent - Double Live Gonzo Ted Nugent - State of Shock Ted Nugent - Wango Tango Pat Travers - Heat in the Street Pat Travers - Puttin' it Straight Pat Travers - Crash and Burn Pat Travers - Black Pearl Pat Travers - Live! Go For What You Know Uli Jon Roth - Earthquake Uli Jon Roth - Fire Wind Gary Moore - Back on the Streets Gary Moore - Corridors of Power Gary Moore - Victims of the Future Gary Moore - Run for Cover Gary Moore - Dirty Fingers | |

| Used to like stuff like Vinnie Moore and Steve Vai. Not that big on instrumental guitar-albums any more. _________________ | |

| None of the albums I listed are instrumentals. I'm talking about guys like Frank Marino and Robin Trower that took that guitar spirit that guys like Jimi Hendrix had and went with it.
I'm not really talking about that self-indulgent wankery crap. I'm talking guitar rock. If you've heard anything by Mahogany Rush, Robin Trower, or Gary Moore, you know what I am talking about.
I suppose I am mostly talking the 70's-styled guitar heros as opposed to guys like Malmsteen, Satriani, and Vai. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| Don't forget about Jimmy Page, Richie Blackmore, Tony Iommi, and Alex Lifeson. Yeah I agree Gary Moore is awesome (especially the albums you chose). Can't really comment on Uli Roth (haven't listened to much of early scorpions), Frank Marino, or Pat Travers, but Robin Trower and Ted Nugent are great. | |

| Break out straight up shredding stuff every now and again. I used to listen to it all the time. Honestly just tired of hearing overdone 20 minute solos. My all time favorite players that shred in one way or another
Y. Malmsteen Trey Azagoth Steve Vai Dimebag Jimi Hendrix Hillel Slovak Prince Mick Mars Chris Holmes |

| Here's some good ones from the 80's (all with vocals) James Byrd- Atlantis Rising Craig Goldy's Ritual John Norum- Face the Truth Norum's featured Glenn Hughes, who guested on so many of these. He was also on George Lynch solo, as well as the Phenomena and Brazen Abbott projects (as well as with Gary Moore; Pat Thrall and 7th Star). Forcefield was another guitar hero project; and how about Adrian Vandenberg? | |
