| My copy of Captain Beyond arrived today. Spun it about 4 times already. Short album (35 minutes) leaves me wanting more. Always a good sign. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

There are a few lp versions that have a 3D cover that is cool to look at. I sometimes miss the days of that being a standard album length.

| Years ago, some people thought I was simply entering a phase, when I got into metal. I think most peple realise now, that metal is ... part of who I am. | |

| Short answer: No I don't have much time to write a long answer, but to put my long answer in a short way: You can always broaden your horizons. I started with Dio and Black Sabbath, now I listen to everything from Krypteria to Behemoth to Diablo Swing Orchestra. I still LOVE Dio and Sabbath, but I've just got a whole lot more to listen to. And remember -- if you're feeling any type of emotion, there's a metal subgenre specifically for you. | |

| You can never have enough good metal. I won't buy just to buy something that looks, sounds or feels metal. I have to really enjoy it. I mean, if I hear a sample, I will buy a new album/band. But other than that, I am always ready for the next awesome sound to hit my ears. | |

| Just no such thing - there's so much metal out there to discover that it's nearly impossible to have really heard it all at any one time ...
Just yesterday I discovered Tank and they're not even a new band. So there's a wealth of music both past and present to still discover and become familiar to.
My biggest recommendation is to have variety in what you listen to. For example, I listen to a whole bunch different sub-genres of metal a bit of thrash, a bit of glam, nwobhm, black metal etc.
I find that way no band or sub-genre ever gets stale and if I get bored of one band because I listened to it too much I can just put something else on. That may be stating the obvious but I know a lot of metalheads who just stick to one or two genres. Sooner or later they start coming across the same type of bands and clones of other bands.

| What makes Metal interesting is its impressive variety and catalogue.
For many years, i've been tracking down bands from the eighties i had never heard of. And the list doesn't end.
I will check TANK now that Alex mentioned them.

I will check TANK now that Alex mentioned them. I would agree that the different kinds of metal and the good stuff in each is what makes the genre really good. _________________
