Opeth help

Interetsing thread. I camer to Opeth relatively late (about five years ago) with Blackwater Park. It didn't grab me at first, went back on the shelf for six months, until another spin, when suddEnly it all clicked and I was in awe! Ghost Reveries followed, then Watershed then Damnation, and whilst Watershed is prbably my favourite from them, I'm keen to go back into the more death metal origins, so this thread gives me some great pointers!

been a fan since ghost reveries but blackwater park is my favourite opeth album by far

With Miss Rokket's suggestion I might just go get Orchid for next week. We have a wicked cold front coming through.....
Additionally I might add that I'm adding them one at a time and trying to listen to each album at least 10X through to give them a fair shake and get a good feel. I do enjoy "discovering" bands with a nice long history to explore.

I highly recommend the live releases: Lamentations, The Roundhouse Tapes and Live At Royal Albert Hall. I think their live performances often overshadow the studio albums.
