Jesus Toho, please tell me it's NOT the porno you've purchased. Even I have my limits and that is just off the charts.

The porn film or the actual movie?
Here is a review of the porn film (and yes, it's safe for work). Yipes.
Good Lord - with a name like that it has to be some sort of porno!
It's not a porno.

A family friend purchased the first two Lethal Weapon movies on Blu-Ray recently, but he meant to purchase them on DVD. He doesn't own a Blu-Ray player. Since I own them on DVD, we're going to do a trade, so I'll own the first two on Blu-Ray.

Anyone get any of those .99 blu-rays from the Blockbuster sale? Amazing deal, wish there was something like that in the UK.

used for $17.99, not bad for a full TV season on blu ray.

took some crap CDs to trade in (and I mean CRAP), got just enough in store credit to pick this DVD set up:
I'm trying to collect all the larger Collector sets (the fold outs) instead of the cheaper repackaged slimline sets. Sure, the packaging is a pain in the ass, but it's way cooler, has more pictures and each set has a booklet that isn't included in the smaller sets.
I still need to get Seasons 2, 6 & 7 and then I'll have the complete set.

Just got back from a lunchtime trip to Wal-Mart and found this in their famed $5 DVD bin:
Bonus feature is a full-length documentary about the making of "From Dusk Til Dawn" called "Full Tilt Boogie." Not bad for five beans.

although the menus for the first couple of sets are enough to drive one batty.

I love that flick! And I really expected to hate it because of all the hype around it when it was released.

Same with me, and I didn't expect to dig it as much as I did either, because I freakin' hate Quentin Tarantino. Haha.
My wife and I saw this in the movies back when we were dating. She thought it was just gonna be another "Pulp Fiction" style crime/caper movie till Salma Hayek turned into a vamp and ripped somebody's head off, she literally jumped out of her seat and SCREAMED "WHOOOOA! What the hell kind of movie IS this?"
Have you ever seen this YouTube mashup?
WARNING: NSFW, BOOBIES I love "From Dusk Till Dawn," but always felt that it needed ... something. Now I know what that something is... Muppets.

Wasn't it though? I swear, if ever there was a video that deserves to be the next big Million Views on YouTube viral-video sensation, that's the one. The first time I watched it I had to wipe tears of hysterical laughter from my eyes afterwards.

Yeah, a friend of mine has been wanting me to see From Dusk 'Til Dawn. I told him I'm not that into Quentin Tarantino and he says he isn't either but it's still a great movie. I may have to check it out sometime.

Even tho I'm a confirmed QT hater, I love "FDTD" ... it's just completely over the top and hilariously ridiculously awesome that I dig it in spite of his presence.

I've also come to the realization, that since Netflix exists and more online and streaming services are becoming available....I don't need to own any physical DVD or Blu Rays either. More stuff available to stream than I could ever realistically watch.
Un-complicating your life is quite fun actually.

I highly recommend FDTD. It's 2 movies in one; the first half is a "criminal buddies on the road" flick but the second half is an over the top vampire gorefest; think vampire Three Stooges with blood and you get the idea.

Well, at least he didn't direct it, that helps.
Robert Rodriguez > Quentin Tarantino

This is true. Rodriguez is the man. Have you seen "Machete?"
The only Q.T. related stuff I've ever liked was this movie, and a "Simpsons" episode when he "guest directed" an Itchy & Scratchy cartoon and then was killed by them.

I like Tarantino, more for his "misses" than his "hits". Jackie Brown was an awesome film I thought...he also directed some intense episodes of CSI and other TV work.
He's helped "upgrade" the appreciation for exploitation cinema by importing and releasing rare stuff and filling his movies full of "in jokes" to get geeks like me doing research.
I think his biggest gifts are producing and his knowledge of rare cinema.
