PARIAH started as pretty much hair metal party rock in the late 80's...but by the time they were signed and their album recorded...the tide had changed and they had to make some changes to "remain relevant"...I had a copy of their demo tape back in the day, and loved it.

Well that would explain it. I picked it up years ago in a used shop. Was that the only album they put out?

Listened to it twice today. It's good. Nothing really blows me away and I didn't expect it to since their albums have been slipping little by little. I would listen to this again though. There really isn't any bad songs on it just nothing thats like WOW!

Sounds like your typical female fronted gothic metal though I did like their last one. Only a handful in this vein stand out these days, and many of those few seem to be loosing steam. Case in point, the newest Visions Of Atlantis. The last one was great but the newest one kind of falls flat.
