Cuatro isn't bad. Not in the least, one of my favorite albums of the 90s.

| To add to my earlier comment, I didn't mean "all" albums featuring those guys, just that they each have numerous (IMHO) mediocre albums to their credit without many memorable songs.
Coverdale is the worst offender of that group of guys.

| ToB, which Heir Apparent album have you heard? I can imagine you not liking One Small Voice, but Graceful Inheritance is one of the best American power/prog albums ever imo. | |

I didn't care for that one. I also had "Triad" which I didn't care for.

Both Jorn Lande and Rob Rock are great singers, but most of their solo stuff is not more than decent because of lackluster songs. I agree.

| Just my professional opinion...
--Anything Geoff Tate did after Promised Land.
--Anything Michael Knott did after The Aunt Bettys.
--Anything Paul Di'Anno did outside of his stint with Maiden and the Nomad album.
--Anything Michael Kiske was on after Pink Bubbles Go Ape (an underrated album).
--Anything Michael Graves was on after Famous Monsters.
--Anything Tarja did that isn't Nightwish.
--Lee Ving on MD45.
--Fear Factory on every other album.
--KISS in the 80's.
--David Bowie in the 80's.
--WASP after The Crimson Idol.
--Most Christian Death albums with Valor.
--Nearly everything that Tony Martin is on.
Ok. Let the hatemail begin...

| Yeah...even *I* am having second thoughts on those two. Especially the Bowie. He hates his 80's pop era, and I'm obviously not the biggest fan of it either, but actually, the more I think about it, even his worst material is still better than a lot of other artists' best.

| I don't agree with Tony Martin. Headless Cross has some great tunes and Cross Purposes is a monster album. With reissues of those coming (hopefully!) people wil start to notice this. | |

| Tony Martin is indeed an awesome vocalist. His power and range and especially emotional tone are superb. The guy could sing Dio Sabbath, Ozzy Sabbath, everything. Really underrated singer. And those albums are some of the best works Sabbath has put forth. Cross Purposes is such a monster of an album. I really wish the reissues would come forth and show people that Sabbath was not only Ozzy and Dio. | |

| I agree Tony Martin is awesome, the only weakness the man has is that his on stage charisma is nowhere near Ozzy, Dio or Gillan, but the work he did with Black Sabbath IMO was excellent | |

| True his onstage presence is a little lacking but his perfomance on the albums is beyond excellent. Really powerful voice, full of emotion and range. The title track on Headless Cross is such a good song because of his performace! | |

)+( 80's era Bowie is what i grew up with... so it holds a special place with me. I was a latecomer with Tony Martin era Sabbath. But when i finally heard Headless Cross, i became a fan. He is underrated imo.

Yeah. But I loved him on WINTERS BANE - "Heart of a Killer". Still his best release.
Releases featuring him tend to be of spotty quality, and more so lately than before.
I totally agree. Heart Of A Killer is Ripper's finest hour.

)+( I think KILLERS-Murder One is a great album with Di'Anno. The first 2 Battlezone discs were very good too. The rest of his stuff (apart Maiden) is pretty weak though. My fave Kiss discs are Creatures Of The Night, Animalize and Lick It Up. I'd agree with you about W.A.S.P. if Dominator didn't exist. Cause Dominator is an excellent disc. Nearly everything Tony Martin released is very good to excellent IMO. That's the case for his Sabbath albums (save for Forbidden, which is average at best). Giuntini Project-II and III are very good too, especially II. The Mollo/Martin discs are also quality stuff. And his 2005 Scream solo album is damn fine too.

| My first thought was Tony Martin too.
I think Iommi played great riffs on the Martin Stuff (Psychophobia, Get a Grip and so on), but the lyrics Martin came up with are are often not my cup of tea.

| Don't get me wrong--I like Tony Martin. I think he's super under-rated. But I just don't think he's always had the greatest material to work with. Take an album like Black Sabbath's Forbidden...I don't think ANY of their vocalists--not Ozzy, not Dio, not even Ian Gillan--could have made that album great. Some will say that anything that Dio was on would have been great, but I will counter that no one said that when he was alive and pooping out drivel like Lock Up The Wolves and Strange Highways. But that's another rant.
