Chicago band says political flier implies they're criminals

Two members of the Chicago rock band Disturbed have asked a Kentucky attorney to quit
distributing a political flier that implies they are guilty of child pornography and other crimes.

Campbell County Attorney James A. Daley has been using the flier in a political race, according to band members David Draiman and Dan Donegan.
On one side of the flier, Daley says his opponent in the race for county attorney "has made a living defending criminals charged with: child pornography, unlawful transactions with minors, custodial interference, assaults on police officers, drug trafficking, and the list goes on ... Now he wants you to trust him to be your County Attorney? He's gotta be kidding."

The other side features images of Draiman and Donegan, along with members of two other bands. The photos apparently are from publicity stills.

No comment was available from Daley.

Does this guy have some personal agenda against the bands or did he just tell one of his aids "Go on teh interwebs and google me some pictures of long-haired, creepy looking guys to put on this here flier"?

Either way, it reeks of stupidty.

I am personally hate political ads and makes me not want to vote for anybody regardless of party, but this guys seems like even bigger dumbass then most politicans.

I'm with you on this. I can't stand those things and during a commercial break,2 out of the 3 are political ads (usually one with an opposing view to the one aired immediately before it). I swear if I hear Nancy Pelosi blamed for everything that's wrong in this country I'm going to vomit.And I'm not even really a backer of hers.

I wouldn't blame her for EVERYTHING that's wrong in this country... there's enough blame to go around for Harry Reid, Barry O BLAH-BLAH, and every other Liberal politician that has been destroying this country for the past 6 years.

I don't understand why their pictures are on there in the first place .... ?

I was not trying to turn this into libreal vs conservative politic views thread , personally both parties suck and politicans for that matter suck no matter what label you want to slap on it.

That's what I want to know. Did this guy knowingly put famous musicians on there for some reason or was he just searching for "criminal looking" people and used the first images he found?

Well there's already voter fraud in Nevada's Senate election.

Oh,neither was I. I just was trying to say that I'll be glad once Tuesday"s done and we no longer have to hear those commercials ad nauseum (and as I type this another one's airing ! ) And I agree,ALL politicians are terrible.

When I was in Paris recently I was musing that the French had a cool thing going with that guillotine. I was thinking we should put one of those in Washington - stick it right on the Mall next to the Washington Monument and every time a politician stabs his/her voters in the back...

Good idea Sheets. I'd go even further than that and open up public hangings like the old days too!

What would you do with all the voters who agreed with them and voted for them in the first place ... and will vote for more pols just like them?

I would think if the attorney is insinuating that these people are child pornographers that they would have a case to bring against the attorney. THats a pretty hefty charge and can really ruin someone's life.

and shannon - what do you expect when the son of Reid is a county commissioner and the poll workers are SEIU members? Its Chicago-style politics.
