Now that my office has finally lightened up on the dress code, I've been restocking my T shirt collection. It struck me that most of my shirts were Cardinals or Rams related and were also really old and ratty. Even though I work from home full-time, I still have to go in to the office about once a week.
So far I've bought the following shirts:
Jethro Tull - Aqualung (album cover) Pink Floyd - Animals (album cover) Screeching Weasel (weasel logo) Dropkick Murphys (skeleton playing bagpipes) Rush - 2112 (star logo) Ducky Boys - Three Chords and the Truth (album cover) Monty Python - Run Away! (Blood-soaked rabbit and bones) Ministry - The Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste (album cover)
and this one which just came today and is why I'm posting it here (that and to keep Freddy's favorite thread alive):

Cool shirt, Toho. I've been thinking about re-acquiring some concert tees -- I only own a handful as it is, and one of them (the one I got at Iron Maiden's Somewhere Back in Time gig in 2008) has about had it, so if that one hits the bin I should look into a Ramones "T" to take its place.

I wanted the Rocket To Russia album cover T but it only went up to a large and the way these things tend to shrink I always by 2XL

That looks awesome. I bought the first issue of the 'meets' KISS mini, and thought it was fun, but never bought anything else. I will probably by the trade though for my son to look at. Same with this one.
So after all these years I recently got into the Ramones...I have known who they are for years and yes I have seen Rock N Roll High school(great movie) but I just recently bought some of their albums...Great fun music...I am glad they are so popular today. I wonder if a fun band like this came out today would they be as famous?

The Ramones debut is getting the 40th Anniversary Super-Duper-Ultra-Deluxe treatment...
Quote :
The Ramones‘ landmark 1976 debut will return to stores later this year with a remastered and expanded edition issued in honor of the album’s 40th anniversary.
Due July 29, the deluxe Ramones adds a healthy assortment of extras, including a hefty set of in-depth liner notes that adds production notes from producer Craig Leon, an essay written by journalist Mitchell Cohen and additional shots from photographer Roberta Bayley, who took the picture on the album cover. Packaged in a 12×12 hardcover book, the anniversary edition adds a pair of extra discs to the record, as well as a vinyl disc.
The first CD offers stereo and mono mixes of Ramones, both assembled by Leon. On the second disc, fans will find 18 single edits and demos, while the third disc adds two sets recorded at the Roxy on Aug. 12, 1976. Finally, the set is rounded out by a vinyl disc offering Leon’s 40th anniversary mono mix of the LP.
“The earliest mixes of the album were virtually mono,” said Leon. “We had an idea to record at Abbey Road and do both a mono and stereo version of the album, which was unheard of at the time. I’m thrilled that now, 40 years later, we followed through on that original idea.”
Available in a limited edition run of 19,760 individually numbered copies, Ramones is available now for pre-order through the band’s official online store. Visit the site to view a complete track listing and to purchase your copy.

Same here. Seems like a bit of overkill in my opinion, but hey, if folks want to fork out the cash for all those bells & whistles, have at it, Hoss.

Yeah. That's a bit steep. I gotta get movin' on my Ramones collection; but I have been working on my Raven collection and thoroughly enjoying the discs I have been picking up.

42 years ago today...
Aug. 16th, 1974 Four 'brothers' from Queens take the stage in downtown NYC
Johnny, Tommy, Dee Dee, and Joey Ramone play the Bowery's CBGB club in matching leather jackets, jeans, and attitudes, belting out their set of blistering songs in a style soon to be dubbed 'punk.' Rocketing from this first gig, the Ramones will change the course of rock 'n' roll.

Legend has it (according to the liner notes of Ramones Mania) that their first gig was witnessed by a mere five souls - six if you count the bartender's dog.

CJ Ramone has put out a solo album that I guess was previously only available in Japan. You can get the download now through CD Baby...

The song samples sound pretty much what you'd expect from a former Ramone. Well, excluding Dee Dee King's "rap" album. Not bad at all.

^^ Yep, I follow C.J. on Facebook and he's been posting pix from his tour for this album lately.
A couple of weeks ago his solo band did some dates in South America with former Ramones drummer Richie Ramone's band. Between the two of 'em they probably played the entire Ramones catalog.

I didn't know CJ has 4 albums out. Have you heard any of them? I've only heard snippets here and there. Decent enough, but nothing that flips my wig.

The cable network "EPIX" has some kind of documentary series coming about the History of Punk, which sounds cool. They had a launch party for it this past week which included a panel discussion with guys like Johnny Rotten, Marky Ramone, and Henry Rollins, and apparently Johnny pissed Marky off so much with his typically snide douche-baggery that they almost threw down:

Joey doesn't seem all that impressed with Debbie's incredible rack.

I bought the compilation "Ramones Mania" back in March 1991 and instantly got hooked . They played around that time in a club close to my old home and a Metal radio show played many songs of their "It´s Alive" album that I loved .
But my interest for Ramones and most punk stuff waned really fast . When I started listening to Megadeth and Metallica I got tired of their "innocent and happy" music and lost interest quickly , never to regain again .
Sex Pistols is the only pure Punk Rock band I still like .

As white rappers go, Dee Dee Ramone made Vanilla Ice look legit.
