| I'd have to say that "Of One Blood" and "The War Within" are pretty good. |

| If you are a thrash metal head, I can think of about 100 bands you should check out before checking out Shadows Fall. Not that they suck necessarily, but they are not thrash. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

i'd recommend The art of balance or the war within I liked them a lot when I first purchased "Of One Blood" back in the day. They had some hints of thrash metal for sure, as well as death metal and metalcore. For some reason, however, I have grown bored with this style. I may need to revisit "The Art of Balance" or "Of One Blood". It's been a while. I don't think I've even heard "The War Within".

Both guitarist really shine on this album Agreed. Jon Donais and Matt Bachand really laid some heavy stuff down on that record. |

| Jason is a great drummer, no matter how you look at it. _________________ | |

He did some good stuff, too. I think "The War Within" really brought out the band as a whole. |

| The War Within is a phenomenal album, along with The Art of Balance. Threads of Life(newest album)is also quite good in my opinion. |

| I'd start with Somber Eyes To The Sky, who featured Philip Labonte(All That Remains) on vocals. Also you might find Overcast interesting, thats where Brain was before Shadows Fall formed. Here's kind of the run down:
Overcast/Fight Ambition To Kill: Scott McCooe-Guitar Jay Fitzgerald-Drums Brian Fair-Vocals Mike D Antonio-Bass Pete Cortese-Guitar
Shadows Fall/Somber Eyes To The Sky: Paul Romanko-Bass Philip Labonte-Vocals David Germain-DRums Matthew Bachand-Guitar Jonathan Donais-Guitar(This album producted by Adam D)
Killswitch Engage: Joel Stroetzel-Guitar Jesse Leach-Vocals Adam D-Drums Mike D Antonio-Bass
Seemsless: Jesse David-Vocals Pete Cortese-Guitars Jeff Fultz-Bass Derek Kerswill-DRums

| This is a band that I wouldn't think that I'd like. I'm not a fan of really harsh vocals, but for some reason it works for them, and I really like these guys. Some of it is probably has to do with the addition of melodic vocals as well as the twin guitars and really great drumming. I didn't want to like this band, but I do. That being said, I would recommend their last 3 albums, The War Within, Fallout From the War (featuring a funny cover of "Teasin, Pleazin" by Dangerous Toys), and Threads of Life. I'm working my way backwards through their releases, so I cannot comment on their older material, although I've heard that it's definately more "mall-core" or "metal-core" than the newer, thrashier stuff. | |
