Since I don't really have any expectations in this thread, you didn't disappoint M-Rob. I'm just offering my opinions of the bands you post.
Now if this thread was titled something like "Bands I Think Toho Will Like", then I'd be disappointed.
Dont worry my next one might be up your alley

Pass on Blood Ceremony.
Not my thing at all.
I'm not a big 'doom metal' fan though.
Give me original Black Sabbath, Dio-fronted Black Sabbath, Heaven and Hell and Candlemass and I'm set for my doom fix. I need nothing else. Unless it's some death-laced doom like Paradise Lost (early era), Tristania (early era), Theatre of Tragedy (early era), etc.
Oh ... and Trouble. Gotta have me some Trouble. Don't mind a bit of Place of Skulls either.
Then you can have the rest of what this genre offers. It's my least favorite genre in metal to be honest. I prefer trad black metal more.

This is interesting and it's helped to realize I don't like a lot of bands i'd wondered about.

Thats a very good album Its that album that elevated me from casual eh fan to fanboy status lol If you liked that one the next album id recommend would be Weiland's first solo album 12 Bar Blues, but STP-wise I'd recommend either Core of No 4. both are great albums
Cool. Yeah, I guess you could say I'm a 'casual' fan of STP. Never thought I'd see the day heheh. Remember how I used to not like them Addy?
What sorta changed it around for me is a soundtrack I got (The Crow). I got it for the Cure song, since I'm a major Cure fan. However, I was actually turned onto a few artists from that soundtrack, STP being one of them. So I went out and bought "Tiny Music". Got it really dirt cheap. It was under a buck in great shape.
I'm not quite yet at the point of buying another album from them. Kinda want to set with this one for a while and see how it 'grows' if ya know what I mean. I could turn into a raving fan one day. Or maybe not. Not sure yet.
But I will keep the album I have. Let's put it that way.
First of all "Burn" is my all time favorite song by The Cure it was from The Crow that turned me on to that and the Crow is an AWESOME Flick!!!!
The thing with STP is Tiny Music is a change in sound for them at that point, Their first 2 albums and their fourth album sound nothing like Tiny Music in my opinon. The reason why I suggested 12 Bar Blues by Weiland is because to me the perfect sequel to Tiny music was that first solo album. I have Tiny Music in my rotation hehe its a good disk kinda short time wise just over 35 - 38 minutes I believe. Funny thing about Purple (their 2nd album) I Love that album all the songs are great except the ones that were singles, theyre good songs but my favorites arent those few popular tunes. I think Big Empty is on their 2nd album.
Yeah I remember when you hated alot of things hehe Im glad you came around, when STP first came out I wasnt a fan at all. Could not stand them, then by the 2nd album I was a casual fan. It was Tiny Music that did it for me and i think it's because it was so different for them. And if you do turn into a Raving fan lemme know Ill recommend a ton of stuff for ya
So "Burn" turned you into a Cure fan? I've been a Cure fan since high school! If you need any recommendations for The Cure, let me know. I own most of their catalogue.
And yes, The Crow is an amazing movie! One of my faves. Good soundtrack too. And I don't normally buy soundtracks.
I'll remember what you said about Scott's first solo album. Might pick it up next even.
Nah I wouldnt say it turned me into a Cure fan Ive always liked the Cure but that (burn) is my favorite Cure song , You could probobly find his first solo album decently priced I bought mine as a promo copy months before it came out I dont know if it was mistakenly put into the used bin but I got my copy for 8 bucks

Yep!
I know this band. One of the classic punk bands from the 70s. Not one of my favorites but not one I hate either.
I like a slightly better singer in my punk.

Those songs I think were on their latest release and they are working on a release this year, I THINK. Im with you Toho, a little more power behind those vocals and this could work...

BLOOD CEREMONY
Ooh I'm behind... I do like this. It also has an early Tull vibe and not just because of the flute. Their album cover is from an Clark Ashton Smith story cycle collection entitled Zothique (1970 Ballantine Books).

I've never heard Feinstein before and now I wonder how I missed them? Kind of a Dio quality on the vocals.

Same here and this band needs to be discussed on here. Traditional classic metal with huge Dio influence. I see Feinstein is actually Dio's cousin and has played with him before as well. I will be getting this album ASAP. These songs live in your head...

I'm willing to bet it was discussed here at some point because I too purchased this album a coupla years ago and I doubt I woulda known about it otherwise. Feinstein, the man, not the band was also in The Rods.

I do listen to some of that silly older stuff like Black Widow and Bodkin. I'd more than likely listen to it once or twice a year and be happy with that.
