Power Metal. But I like their first three as well. I don't see any of their stuff as 'glam metal.' I suppose on a few songs they go a bit Dokken-ish but for the most part their music is balls-out classic heavy and speed metal. With the exception of some of the more aggressive thrash bands, they rocked just as hard as any other early to mid-80s heavy metal band.

Classic heavy metal and speed metal? Can't say I agree at all. They were an 80s rock band that steadily got into the 80s metal realm and then heavier. I don't recall anything I'd consider to be speed metal. And they sure as hell had the glam look.
I have a buddy with a CFH tattoo on the back of his neck, plus a Dimebag one on his arm. I only have CFH, so I can't really tell what's best and what is not, but that album is alright.
I like all their albums! Especially the first three with Phil.
CFH will always be my favorite! That was their true rebirth into the aggressive power groove style. Dimebag was a phenomenal player! All of them were…

I voted Vulgar, but i also enjoy Power Metal and I Am The Night quite a lot.
Barely ever spin any post Vulgar album, despite owning all of those on cd.

Far Beyond Driven, but Vulgar is right there with it. Loved Trend Kill also, probably rank that one higher than CFH. Reinventing the Steel was pretty weak, and I rarely listen to it. Their first four, I couldn't tell you since its been twenty years since I've listened to them. Never o owned physical copies, on my bad them when I used to DL crap off Napster, and lost those albums years ago. Never spent enough time with them to know which one I liked best. I know I didn't care for them as much as the CFH and later records.

Listening to Power Metal on YouTube. Shits pretty good! I can definitely hear some riffs that made it to the later albums. Slightly different, but they're there.

Those 4 early albums should definitely get a proper reissue.
The only available cds out there are Russian and Greek bootlegs. But they do the job.

Yes they really should. Kind of dumb not to, I'm sure tons of pantera fans would buy them up quicker than they can produce them.

None of the members wanted them to be released except original singer Terry Glaze. I think they won’t get released until Rex is gone (or is offered a lot of money). I don’t think Phil cares… but he’d probably insist new cover art for the Power Metal album.
Dig a few tunes on CFH, after that... pseudo tough guy act, laughable Respect Phil's ability on "Power Metal", lacked the balls of the live shows of that era. My favorite is "Projects In The Jungle"

Are you more into the sensitive non-tough guy thing?
I’m pretty sure Phil was influenced by Mike Muir and Henry Rollins back in the day. He just went a bit overboard on Vulgar Display.

Projects is awesome. Takin' My Life is one of their best songs and a top power ballad.

If you seen and talked to Phillip in the Razor White and his early years in Pantera, you'd catch my drift. He reminds me of dude from Hatebreed, Ice-T, Ice Cube, Vanilla Ice, and that over the top phoney bravado act. Muir and Rollins are just angry and psychotic (IMHDO) far from being tough guys, They are probably just as phony?
