| Mine - would have to be Running Wild. Branded and Exiled. Now days - you get a boat load of songs - perhaps fillers. Back then - some bands felt 8 songs were enough. Four songs - on each side of the black vinyl. I believe Branded was recorded in Berlin - in 1985. | |

| Black Sabbath - Heaven and Hell Death - Leprosy Death - Spiritual Healing Death - Human Destruction - Release From Agony Devastation - Idolatry Disciples of Power - Ominous Prophecy Disciples of Power - Invincible Enemy Fates Warning - Awaken the Guardian Gorguts - The Erosion of Sanity Iron Maiden - Powerslave Iron Maiden - Seventh Son of a Seventh Son Kreator - Terrible Certainty Megadeth - Peace Sells...But Who's Buying? Metallica - Ride the Lightning Metallica - Master of Puppets Morbid Saint - Spectrum of Death Opprobrium - Beyond the Unknown Skeletal Remains - Beyond the Flesh
I won't count Heathen - Breaking the Silence, because even though the vinyl and cassette version have eight tracks, I've always owned the CD version, which includes the band's self titled song, and is one of the album highlights. Otherwise, that would obviously count.

| Some of my favorite albums have only 8 songs. Two that come to mind immediately are Led Zeppelin's Houses of the Holy and Opeth's Ghost Reveries.

| I love most of the albums mentioned in the posts above. Two that I don't think that were mentioned that are great are:
Aerosmith s/t and Get Your Wings
I'm a big fan of only have 8 or 9 tracks, and 10 tops. Unless you have some really serious songs to add to the mix, like Appetite for GNR, then anything over 10 is really too much.

| I think the more the better. Beats having to hunt down those extra tracks on b-sides and compilation discs with unreleased songs as perks.
Album with 13 songs of which 8 are awesome > album with 8 songs with no filler.

Album with 13 songs of which 8 are awesome > album with 8 songs with no filler. I already mentioned I prefer the shorter album anyway--but also, I mean, if songs are not good, I don't even see the point of owning them, just because a band you liked recorded them. Which is subjective anyway, which I guess it also an issue, even when it comes to what would you excise from a 13-song album. We might disagree on the strongest 8 tracks.

Piece of Time has nine songs on it, although the best Atheist album, Unquestionable Presence, has eight songs on it.
