Go back to page one and download the tracks I uploaded. There are two from each album. Good stuff. |

| Vulgar Display of Power !!! Walk - This love - Mouth for war are great tracks. I remember I saw them live here in Belgium back in 1992. They were opening for Megadeth and they totally kicked ass. Megadeth were so boring that night, they disappointed me. Pantera were way much better and convincing that night than Megadave. I'll never forget them... good old Dimebag was awesome -- R.I.P. |

| Vulgar Display, no contest. Cowboys is second, Trendkill is third. Of their pre-Cowboys stuff, I like all of it, but you are comparing two different animals there....

| I like everything up until "Cowboys" (and a few tracks on "Vulgar") but after that they got a little too screamy and abrasive for me. I voted for "Cowboys" cuz that is simply a fan-freakin'-tastic album all the way around. Their earlier "hair metal" albums are an interesting listen, though. "Power Metal" is a great album, as are "Projects in the Jungle" and "I Am The Night." Those last two would probably make fans of their more "extreme" period puke, however. | |

| Guys, if you knew how kick-ass Dime was on guitar, you would say that "Vulgar Display" is ballsy. |

| While I am the first to slam Panterrible at any opportunity, I do not mean to say they didn't have talent. I just could never stand their music enough to discover it.

Even though the guys in Pantera might dis-own those releases, Vinnie will put them out "in rememberance of Dime". He'll release anything with Dimebag playing on it, I guarantee.

| Vinnie also has his own record label now (Big Vin), which released the "Rebel Meets Rebel" album, so I wouldn't be surprised at all if those first four Pantera albums re-surface at some point. I wouldn't blame him, cuz they've been bootlegged like crazy over the years, so why wouldn't he want to get a piece of that action? | |

| Cowboys From Hell is in my opinion an almost perfect album (if they had've shortened it to 8 tracks it would've been a metal masterpiece). I still really like Vulgar, love the song Hollow, one of my favorites, but just the pointless screaming from then on in is just gutting for me. Pantera as a music band afterwards are excellent, but Phil just kills everything with his stupid, meaningless screams. The worst screaming I've heard period. Yes I'm surprised at much I love Down after the final three Pantera studio records. I havn't properly listened to the first four albums, but I do own all four, they seem pretty good (despite some terrible cheese) and yes they deserved a bit more production. |

Yeah, Phil has one HELL of a singing voice which makes it a crying shame that he won't use it more often. That is exactly why I never liked anything form Pantera after Far Beyond Driven.

Yeah, Phil has one HELL of a singing voice which makes it a crying shame that he won't use it more often. That is exactly why I never liked anything form Pantera after Far Beyond Driven. The Great Southern Trendkill went overboard at times, but there still some amazing songs on that one, like "Floods," "Living Through Me" (one of my all-time favs), "Drags The Waters," and some others. The same goes for Reinventing The Steel. I think after Far Beyond Driven, though, is when the band started having internal issues. Phil was drinking and doing more and more drugs and he was killing his voice. I mean, he actually got the point where his singing voice simply sounded terrible. Have you heard the new Down album? It's easily his finest moment since Far Beyond Driven. |

I think he sounds closer to Geof Tate than Halford.

Nope, sadly I've only got NOLA, but I still think it's an awesome album, Phil's singing on songs like Jail and Stone The Crows is really good though. Whats the singing screaming balance on the new Down record? |
