question about the infamous Metallica/Megadeth fued

I read in a Metallica biography that Megadeth opened for Metallica on New Years eve 1985. Did any feuds or tension erupt between the two bands that night and also I saw a pic of Lars, Dave, Axl Rose and Slash in 1988. I thought
that both James,Lars and Dave didn't speak to each or have anything to do with each other at all until 1993 when they ended the feud. Also please note this is NOT a Metallica vs Megadeth thread on stating which band is better

Megadeth never shared a bill with Metallica until 1993.

I remember several interviews with Dave in the 80s where he mentioned speaking to Lars. I don't remember any mention of him speaking to James, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen.

I'm sure they crossed paths many times over the years...

yes they did in New Years Eve 1985 both bands played live at San Francisco along with Metal Church and Exodus
