King Kobra is awesome. It's an undeniable fact. Now here's some good news-- Paul Shortino is the band's new vocalist according to Blabbermouth: Reunited KING KOBRA Joined By Singer PAUL SHORTINO
I also came across an old new item saying New Renaissance Records was planning to reissue all four albums. That was from a year and a half ago and NRR's site isn't up anymore and their MySpace page hasn't been accessed since January, so I think it's a safe bet that's not happening. Shame though.
I'm really looking forward to whatever new music they come up with.

The band best known for having a lead singer who had a sex change.

This might be good!! Love King Kobra, and also most of what I have heard of Shortino.

I used to have the firs King Kobra album and enjoyed that album but did not care for the follow up 'Thrill of a Lifetime".
King Kobra III was not bad and it featured one shot Foreigner vocalist Johnny Edwards.

2 of my all time favs - KK and Shortino!
Got to party with King Kobra on their first tour with Autograph. Johnny Rod signed my tennis shoe! Whenever I think of great stage performers, Johnny Rod instantly comes to mind. The dude was flat-out crazy with energy! And, anyone that knows me, knows that Carmine has always been my favorite drummer. KKIII is one of the best melodic metal albums of the 80's.

I like them too. Their debut is my fave. They made a very bad comeback album some years ago. I hope that their new album is much better. With Shortino maybe it will be.

Ready To Strike is a top ten all time favorite of mine. I'm a bit skeptical about this lineup. I wish Shortino would get back with Amir and reform Rough Cutt.

Can Carmine still pound the drums? He's about 87 now isn't he? His first gig was playing at Teddy Roosevelt's Inauguration Ball.

I don't know about the drums, but he has no problem pounding your mom.

That would explain her funny walk at Thanksgiving. Viagra's a helluva drug.

The only KK I have is KING KOBRA III. It's "a'ight," as Jamie Kennedy says in "Malibu's Most Wanted."

The original vocalist was a fella named "Mark" Free, who had the operation after he left the band. He now performs as "Marcie" Free.
Seriously, you can't make this sh*t up.

Yes - Marcie has released one album and has made numerous guest appearances and she can still sing her ass off!

New album due Jan/Feb on Frontiers Records
Check out the song "Monster & Heroes" on Carmine's site: http://www.carmineappice.net/01_home.html
Decent song. Gonna be on the upcoming Dio tribute album (put together by Wendy), but I think it's gonna be on the KK album too.

I've never really listened to King Kobra actually, but I love Carmine's drum work, especially in Cactus

Anyone pick up the new album? Good stuff! Much different vibe with Shortino on vocals but it'll still appeal to fans of the first album. Good AOR/'70s/'80s rock sound.
