Likewise.  I voted for the same three bands.  I considered voting for Hall & Oates because I do own the Beauty On A Back Street album, but I did not.

See, I've never seen Gene piss on their contributions. I've heard him say KISS would not be where they are without Ace & Peter..acknowledging their importance to what KISS is...but then goes on to say that KISS would not be where they are now WITH them still in the band either...meaning they would not be able to continue at KISS' current level.

The choice Gene has is, either make things a complete disaster by following the awful mess that was Blondie and Van Halen when they were inducted OR the opposite. I'm guessing whatever friction there is from Peter & Ace's camp, they would put those differences aside for one night, if Gene would allow for that to happen. The interesting thing will be, if KISS is inducted, will their induction include any other members? The Black Sabbath induction only included the original four. It would be nice to see Eric Carr inducted as well, and it would be cool if Bruce Kulick could share in this honor by having a moment on stage with the band. There's no way Mark St. John will be recognized, as he was in the band for all of five minutes and Gene hates Vinnie with a passion (and vice versa), so that ain't happening. Regarding Eric Singer & Tommy Thayer, they have no shot...

Yes, he's usually complimentary about their contributions, but it's always followed by how Ace and Peter did themselves in with their drug & alcohol use. It's always a back-handed compliment.

Noone's denying that those 2 self-destructed and couldn't functon in the band. Even Peter & Ace admit to being their own worst enemies at this point. They know they messed up. But it's been 30 years now and Gene (and to a lesser extent Paul) still likes to tell everyone within earshot about what a couple of f*ck-ups Peter and Ace are. Noone needs that kind of reminder.

I'm thinking the same sentiments apply to Vinny Vincent as well.  If he's lucky, maybe Bruce can work the coat-check counter that night.

I've gotten to the point where I hate Gene Simmons so much that I actually hope Kiss doesn't make it in.  Gene has plenty of money to make himself feel important, he doesn't need the prestige.  Let another band who was more interested in the music than the marketing grosses take the award.

Even though I agree with you, I did vote for them in the poll. It's a shame when someone like himself seems to be more bitter as he gets older. I would like to think that people over time would let that become a part of their past. What's to gain from living like that?

I don't care one way or the other really. It doesn't effect my life one iota if they do or don't. Fun to speculate though.

Also, his accounts of things that happened through the years, and especially in the studio, have been inaccurate at best and flat out lies in many cases.

Example, in the case of "Sweet Pain" on Destroyer. Gene made the case in his book that Ace never showed up to the studio to record a solo for the song so they had to bring in Dick Wagner to record instead. Ace claimed he did record a solo and was shocked to hear a completely different solo once the album was released. Of course now that the "remixed" version of Destroyer has been released we find out that Ace did record a solo and that it was Gene and Bob Ezrin's idea all along to bring in Wagner.

Yup, I don't care about KISS and I don't care about TR&RHOF, but I still hope that they never get in as I see KISS as the ultimate pioneers of brand over band.

Agree - they should have been years ago

If the fans vote KISS in like what happened to Rush last year (I believe ?) Gene would jade a lot of them by snubbing anyone of the former members. IMHDO
