1990 - THRASH METAL SUPREMACY

I know a couple of these really push the boundaries of thrash metal, Reverend falling closer to US Power Metal and Death falling closer to death metal, but I included them anyhow. I also know that some will argue for the inclusion of Pantera in a thrash metal poll. However, that particular album seem to fit, at least for me.

Cutting down the poll to only 15 was tough. Hopefully I made the right choices.

Tough decision for me on this one. Toss up between Deliverance - Weapons & Megadeth - Rust . Love both. Both have dominated my CD player at times.

Had to go with my all time faves Forbidden.Rust in Peace would be second

I like pretty much all the choices on the list! It was hard to decide...

Had to go with Pantera's best album! but i could have just as easily chose Suicidal Tendencies...

I was torn between Slayer and Megadeth, but I went with Megadeth

This was a great year for metal! Megadeth will definately be in the finals... But Slayer and Anthrax also had strong abums that year.

Slayer - Seasons in the Abyss

Rust In Peace is one of the top 5 greatest thrash albums ever imo.

Rust In Peace followed closely by Persistence Of Time

I guess Seasons in the Abyss would be my favorite album from this poll. The reason why I say "I guess" is because I hesitated a little because of the song "Skeletons of Society", that song seems like an album filler to me. Also, I think "Dead Skin Mask" is good but kinda overrated, not one of their best songs. The rest of the album is outstanding, though! Actually, my favorite album from '90 is Deicide's first album. That album just rages with anger and hatred mwahaha!

Btw, are you sure that Weapons of Our Warfare came out in '90? I thought it was '91, but it is one of my favorite albums from the poll. Very crunchy.

The Megadeth, Kreator, Anthrax, and Exodus albums were cool as well, but I didn't think they were quite as good as some of their previous albums.

Hmmm....I've still never heard Vio-Lence's second album. My friend brought it over to my house one time but we never got around to listening to it. Atrophy's Violent By Nature is another noteworthy thrash album from '90. A lot of people say it's not as good as their first album, but they're both pretty close for me.

I like Violent by Nature better than their first.

Nice. My favorite song on that album would be "Right to Die", followed closely by "Puppies and Friends". My favorite on Socialized Hate would probably be "Urban Decay".
