You know what Detuned a couple of days ago i was going to post about this band in the Doom/Sludge/Stoner thread......but thought they were too indebted to Motorhead ,bad 70's porn and goats for the thread.
Seriously one of thee loudest bands i've heard live......incredibly brutal. Like Black Sabbath meets the Cosmic Psychos.
Gotta love the description of the bands sound......
"Every time Mammoth Mammoth play they punch a hole in the sky and God f*cks that hole. Thats Mammoth Mammoth."

Nothing wrong with mixing in some Motorhead with the massive riffage! I love the attitude...hope they make it over here to the States.

Get Self-Totaled (1995), that's the best one you can find cheap......although their classics are Blokes You Can Trust (1991) and Go The Hack (1989). But like Motorhead they find their sound and they just throttle it for everything they release.
Believe it or not there like one of the biggest influences on that whole Sub Pop/Seattle/Grunge scene.......although you wouldn't read about it in all those music history books.
L7 covered that song i posted above by the way.

I hope Mammoth Mammoth has an album in the works. EP doesn't seem available here yet.
It's funny. Cosmic Psychos "Oh What A Lovely Pie" was released on Amphetamine Reptile Records, which was half a block from my big stoner friend's house in the 90's in South Minneapolis. It's such a small world. Or as Steve Martin said, "Let's get small".

Amphetamine Reptile released alot of great 80's/early 90's Australian stuff back in the day......feedtime, King Snake Roost, Lubricated Goat, X, Cosmic Psychos etc etc etc. All of which were major influences on Grunge.
