I think it was a band called Seattle. I had a live cover of a Soundgarden song that he sang. Can't remember the song right now but it might have been Outshined.

I have some mp3s of him playing with Seattle, and also his pre-Winters Bane thrash band called Brainicide (which is awesome stuff btw!)

My one complaint about the LIVE MELTDOWN album is that though Owens sounds GREAT vocally, the band doesn't sound quite "right." I think they down-tuned their instruments to match the "brutal" tone of the JUGULATOR songs and that made the classic tracks sound a little weird. Am I the only one who's noticed that?
Yes, I noticed a slight difference as well. I'm not a musician, so I couldn't tell you what they did exactly, but there is a noticable difference in the live Ripper songs as opposed to the Halford studio versions. It didn't bother me though.
i noticed it too, but in all actuality.. the live album was the only Priest album he was on that showed he was a great replacement for the mighty Halford. that material was already strong & he showed he could handle it. unfortunately he could not salvage the original Tipton penned material for the two studio albums. including the gawdawful Cathedral Spires & Bullet Train. lol

OK. I just checked on Blabbermouth. He was also in another band around 2003 called The Sickness. They played stuff like Disturbed, Godsmack, Drowning Pool, and Papa Roach—nu-metal, basically. Looks like it was a temporary thing where he was a co-vocalist for a while. It says Dennis Hayes was also in the band. And then another guy that was in U.S. Metal, an early Owens-fronted cover band. Was that the band you were talking about? If not, how many damn cover bands has Owens been in? Hahaha.

Seattle was the grunge cover band he was in that did songs like Outshined and Rooster. The Sickness was a Nu Metal cover band that he was featured in but they had a regular singer and Tim was just appearing in a for some shows for the hell of it. Beyond Fear and ex-Winters Bane bassist Dennis Hayes was in that band. He also was in the cover bands US Metal and British Steel. Not to mention Priest, Iced Earth, Winter's Bane and Beyond Fear.
I think I got them all in there but the guy gets around.

Was gonna post this in the KK thread, but most of the interview is just about the rest of his career. Pretty cool interview, seems like a cool dude.
