Porn, eh? Weird. Never heard a thing about that. I cannot think of what would hold his interest in contributing to something like that. Artistic merit? Cash? ???

I was going with "Say Anything" - when Cusack/Skye was taking that drunk home and the radio said something like, "And now 5 straight hours of your favorite rock", or something like that. It was EVH noodling as the dj was talking and then faded into the background. Then when they finally found the guys house, EVH was still noodling and the dj came on and said "That was 5 straight hours...".

So, Back to the Future, The Wild Life, and Say Anything. Those are three pretty solid 80's standards!

I don't know where I got Fast Times from. It just popped into my mind for some reason. Maybe I was thinking of Phobe Cates at the time. While I've seen it, I don't remember "Say Anything " well enough. Are you sure it was Eddie or was someone mimicking him for the sake of the joke?

If I remember correctly, the porn thing was done through a connection with the director of the film. He's buddy-buddy with Eddie and the director wanted to make a adult "film", not just some cheap skin-flick (yea, right) and asked Eddie to contribute some music. I'm sure it's got plenty of guitar, but I also think it was allot of keyboard/piano stuff as well. Don't know if it was a paying gig or not. Probably gets part of the profits or something.

The songs EVH recorded are on youtube for those who are interested. My computer is slow today so I can't post the link.

Name the band and the album where the first documented use of the term "Heavy Metal" was used to refer to their style of music.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess it was Jimi Hendrix's ARE YOU EXPERIENCED... supposedly a very early review of that disc commented that listening to Jimi's playing was like "hearing heavy metal falling from the sky"

My mind is full of useless crap like that. Too bad they cancelled VH1's "Rock N Roll Jeopardy" years ago cuz I'd probably win me some mad benjaminz if I got on that show.

I got a new one:

The original Brazilian release of Sepultura's debut EP, BESTIAL DEVASTATION, was a "split" album with another band's EP on the flip side. Who was the other band?

Bonus: Name the record label that released this "split" album.

Very good guess FF, but wrong nonetheless. The Answer is Sir Lord Baltimore-Kingdom Come.

Oh... um... yeah. I knew that. I was just checking to see if YOU knew that. Embarassed

So nobody wants to swing at my Sepultura question above? (whistles "Final Jeopardy" theme)

Good guess, but nope. The band on the flip side was "Overdose."

The label that released the split LP was the Brazilian indie "Cogumelo" by the way.

I got another one:

VoiVod drummer "Away" guested on an album by what Canadian synth-pop band (known here in the US for an early '80s hit single) in 1991?

The answer is... Men Without Hats. Yea, the "Safety Dance" guys. Apparently they kept on releasing albums in their native Canada after that one hit (who knew?), and Away played on one of their later ones.

That would be correct, the Stones video is 'Anyone Seen My Baby?'

I got one:

Michale Graves left the Misfits for a brief period after recording/touring for the AMERICAN PSYCHO album but returned in time to record FAMOUS MONSTERS. Who was their fill-in vocalist for some tour dates while Michale was gone?

DING DING DING! You win a cookie, or you can trade your cookie for whatever Monty's got in the box.

Got another one:

What is the name of the puppet character pictured on the cover of Bruce Dickinson's ACCIDENT OF BIRTH CD?

Bonus: What artist painted said cover?

You get half credit because long time Eddie artist Derek Riggs did indeed paint the cover.

The puppet was named "Edison," due to Bruce making a joke to an interviewer that it was "Eddie's Son."
