Which albums should I get? I only have Roots, and the latest but haven't listened to it yet.

Must haves:
Beneath The Remains Arise Chaos A.D. Blood Rooted (collection of b-sides & live tracks)
Depending on how much you like those, you might also want to get:

Arise is my favorite. Beneath the Remains is also essential. I didn't care for Chaos A.D. to much.

Beneath the Remains is among the top five thrash albums of all time, in my opinion. Arise and Schizophrenia are also essential.

Arise is one of my favorites. If you dig the tribal stuff on Roots you should also like Chaos AD.They started incorporating some of the tribal stuff on that album.

Beneath The Remains, Schozophrenia, and Arise are the best ones. But Bestial Devastation is when they were a bit more harsh death metal sounding. Everything up to Arise is awesome!

I got everything up to and including Blood Rooted. I listened to Arise last night. I enjoyed it a lot. Thanks for all of your responses.

There seems to be alot of people that don't like Chaos A.D., which I actually find kind of surprising. What is it about that record that bothers some?
Just curious.

To slow and to much weird tribal sounding stuff going on for me. I like about 3 songs off of it.

These are the essentials (imo)
Arise Beneath the Remains Chaos AD Schizophrenia
Other albums may have a good song here or there but as whole are not too good.

Sepultura evolved VERY quickly from album to album, that was one of the things that kept me listening to them.
I wasn't surprised by the changes on Chaos A.D., seemed like a natural progression to me (and a way to embrace their heritage).
