Sepultura Top 5

I nearly shed happy tears on the first spin of Kairos and I think Green is a better vocalist on it than Cavalera too. It may have took a while but he was at least AS good by Dante as Cavalera on his best (Chaos). Max is a bit of a bandwagon jumper, it seems to me, who let his wife be some kind of Yoko. Just to try help shatter idealistic views of the 'Cavalera era' that some people may have. And the other brother simply seems to have reneged the toils of tougher, leaner times for, probably, his family life, d.j. cultcha and the part-time tribute to their youth's glory days that The Cavalera Conspiracy is too, I think. If you drop nostalgia or idealistic views and appreciate what belts out of speakers when you play Kairos, Dante, A-lex, Roorback, etc. you might see some of their more recent albums appear in your list of favourites too. Especially the absolutely brilliant Kairos. Go buy!

What are your Top 5 and what do you think of the above list?

Haven't paid much attention to Sepultura in recent years but they were on a roll from Schizophrenia thru Chaos A.D. -- which, I know, is only four albums, but they're the only ones I really dig.

I'd jumble the order some. Beneath The Remains would easily be my number one. I'd also throw on Schizophrenia. I have no problem with Kairos being considered a top five. Really killer album. Good to see it get some love from whoever came up with that list.

the next two would also be Green era albums probably followed by Chaos A.D.

I'm with FF though i'd throw in Dante.

Sepultura was pretty much dead to me when they introduced Derrick Green

I'd be willing to give the Green stuff a chance providing I find them cheap enough.

Nice to see that there seems to be more people who appreciate the Green era lately. Especially considering the roll they've been on since Dante XXI!

I think some of the Green albums are okay, but I rarely listen to them.

It has been a really long time since I listened to Sepultura, but here are the albums I was into back in the day.

The only album with Green I've heard all the way through was Against, it didn't really make an impact when I heard it at the time. Next time I get in the mood for this type stuff I'll check out Kairos since I've heard good things about it.

Listening to my first Sepultura CD - " Beneath The Remains ".
The CD arrived today.
Has a strong Dave Mustaine vibe -
The lead guitar solos are all red hot.
I was surprised that they have so many releases !
14 - studio releases !

Wow, better late then never and that is their best album imo.

Actually , a band that I have high regards now (for their Thrash/Death Metal days) , but use not to be that fan . Their best stuff is on the past , and to me , after "Chaos AD" , they got this "Nu Metal" identity that I never really cared for ...


I got into Sepultura as a fan only in recent years , and to me , the list goes on this order :

1 - Beneath the Remains
2 - Morbid Visions / Bestial Devastation
3 - Schizophrenia
4 - Arise

Chaos AD was an OK album , the rest to me is 90´s "Metalcore" or "Nu Metal" , that I don´t care about anyways .

I recently found their 1996 Natural Born Blasters EP. Nice collector's item. Not too easy to find i presume?
