But he never mentions her by name, or he changed her name for the sake of telling that part of his life. I can't remember, as I finished the book (which was outstanding) last May. Kid???

Actually, to me the face looks like Mark Hamill's character in The Guyver when he was mutated.

There were plans to make Spell For Chameleon into a movie (somebody bought the movie rights for the Xanth series) but it looks like they've been put on hold indefinatly. Same thing for my favorite fantasy author, Terry Brooks' Shannara and Magic Of Landover series but the movie rights have expired.
