ARMORED SAINT Working On New Studio Album - Dec. 11, 2008

Veteran California metallers ARMORED SAINT have issued the following update:

"Due to the nature of vague speculation albeit created by your authors here, ARMORED SAINT are officially announcing that they’ve begun writing new songs for a new record due in 2009.

"The band lineup is as it was on 2000's 'Revelation' and 1992's 'Symbol of Salvation':

John Bush (vocals)
Jeff Duncan (guitar)
Phil Sandoval (guitar)
Joey Vera (bass)
Gonzo (drums)

"The band has written close to 12 songs as of now and are ready to enter the recording studio in the next month or so.

"Some working titles include: 'Loose Cannon', 'Chilled', 'La Raza' and 'Black Feet'.

"The band plans on entering the studio with bassist Joey Vera handling the engineering and producing duties.

"SAINT will be headlining one show in Los Angeles at the Key Club on March 6, 2009. Aside from the co-headline tour in Australia in March with DEATH ANGEL and the headlining of the Keep it True festival in Germany in April, the band has no further shows booked at this time. There are a few festivals in Europe during summer being looked at for booking but no confirmations as of yet."

it'll be nice to hear John's voice again.

Have they begun writing or are they ready to go to the studio? The article says both. Either way its grand news!

Right on! I always preferred Armored Saint over Bush's Anthrax work.

Awesome! Brontotex will be ecstatic. Saint are one of his all time favorite bands.

One of my fav bands from the 80's, John Bush great vocalist, I prefer him with the Saint than with Anthrax.

Good news indeed. I like hearing John's voice in Saint as well as 'Thrax.

i didn't have a preference myself. i liked both eras of the band. i do think that Charlie really let loose during the Bush years though. some of him best drum work is on those albums.

i do look forward to the next Armored Saint though. i sure hope it's better than Revelation, which was a bit bland.

Yes I felt Sound of white Noise, Stomp 492. and Volume 8 where all solid underrated releases. I also thought John Bush did a kick ass job on the re recorded Anthrax classics on "The greater of Two Evils'

Those albums are not bad, but they are no where near the ones with Belladonna imo.
Not saying it`s Bush`s fault, i just don`t think those albums are as good as their first ones.
And most important of all, Bush rules in Armored Saint

I echo those sentiments. Bush ruled in Anthrax. SOWN and He Have Come for You All are my two favorites of the Bush-era. Also like "The Greater of Two Evils".

John Bush's vocals ruin everything I've ever heard him on. I just don't like his singing much at all.

Man, I think he has one of the smoothest, most compelling voices in metal.

I think he has one of the most strained monotone voices in metal.
