bought 'Caress of Steel' in '81 (if u can believe it) for my cousin, couldn't wait to give it to him so I listened to it... 'bastille day'..... it was over..... then 'pictures' and the rest...

even though they're not 'true metal'.... choice of true metal..... (whatever that is!)

IRON MAIDEN .... bought beast in '82 and it was all over...

That's a tough one we got here...

"Appetite for destruction" by Guns n Roses would be the choice of my heart since it was my first introduction into the world of hard rock and metal when I was a kid.

But if I had to choose just one band, I'd probably pick Iron Maiden (with Bruce Dickinson of course).

I'll keep it simple: Iron Maiden.

Always say its out of Aerosmith and Thin Lizzy, but if i had to pick it probably would be Thin Lizzy because all their albums bar the first couple are consistantly brilliant while Aerosmith's career is dodgy post the golden era of the 70's and even dodgier post 80's. Although Love/Hate, Saigon Kick, Queensryche and Skid Row could make serious claims for my favourite metal band.

Does Def Leppard count?
