Good luck with that. Not exactly a stable area I'd be wanting to tour in. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

Good luck with that. Not exactly a stable area I'd be wanting to tour in. I remember a few years back Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater was telling a story of when DT played Turkey and it was around the time the war in Iraq was about to break out and he was just praying they held off until the band was out of the area. I wouldn't even risk being in the Middle East right now with what's going on. I hope they play Vegas. I was supposed to see them on the first Gigantour and I came down with a stomach virus the day of the show and didn't think people felt like being puked on so. |

Good luck with that. Not exactly a stable area I'd be wanting to tour in. Ult, not everywhere in the Middle East is unstable. The mainstream media just likes to make it seem like everywhere and everything is bad. My relatives just came from Jordan last week and they are Christian with prominent position in business and nobody bothers them. Check out pictures of Dubai online. The place looks like heaven. I think the promoters know what areas are hostile and what areas are OK.

| Sym X is set to play San Antonio on 8/5/07. I sure hope they play. They have been here twice & not played. First time they were to open for Blind Guardian at a small club but the show was canceled becoz BG got in a fight with club management. Fans were told that the club could not support the bands equipment due to the power outlets not capable with overseas amps. What a crock of s#!t!! My friend said you would think they would want to play since all the traveling they did was for nothing. Hell he even said he would go get his amp & let them use it!! LOL!!
Then for the first Giagantour, the pavillion they played at could not support two stages, so all bands on smaller stage did not preform in SA, but at the show there was a small 2nd stage set up not being used?? I later found out the pavillion could not or did not have permission to open early to start the show. So again I missed Sym X!! Hope the 3rd time is the charm!

Good luck with that. Not exactly a stable area I'd be wanting to tour in. Depends on where they're going. Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates would probably be safe. Even doing some USO shows would work. |

My relatives just came from Jordan last week and they are Christian with prominent position in business and nobody bothers them. Check out pictures of Dubai online. The place looks like heaven. I think the promoters know what areas are hostile and what areas are OK. Yep. I was stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base for 6 months back in 2001 and the place is unreal. Cars in the US get ghetto'd up with chrome. Most cars over there are laced with gold. Dead serious. Gold rims, gold grills, gold fenders and trim. It's ridiculous. The only time I felt unsafe was when I was in Dubai and I was with just two other people. We passed a large crowd of Arabic dudes and one of them starts shouting at me and pointing. We didn't stop. Then he chased me down. I swear I almost laid him out right there, but for some reason he didn't see too threatening. I just didn't understand him. So as he's sitting there saying things to me and pointing, I sat confused. Finally he starts going, "Ganja! Ganja!" While pointing at my chest. He was looking at this tattoo: He thought it was a pot leaf! I think he wants to kill me; he probably wants to smoke some weed. |
