| I was reading about one of my favorite bands on NLTM recently and Scott talked of Y & T's brilliant trilogy of Earthshaker, Black Tiger, and Mean Streak. I agree 100% and it got me thinking about other bands best 3 in a row; where they really hit their stride. I know that this is all personal opinion; but if you told someone you love a particular band and wanted to prove to them why, what 3 albums would you play for them.
I will get the most obvious out of the way:
Metallica : Kill 'Em All, Ride The Lightning, Master of Puppets.
And add:
Accept : Restless and Wild, Balls To The Wall, Metal Heart
What ya' got? | |

| Good call with Floyd. I'd go further back with Queen though. Queen, Queen II, Sheer Heart Attack _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Night At the Opera had some crap like Good Friends and Lazing On A Sunday Afternoon. ALthough "Prophet's Song" is one of my favorite Queen songs. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Man, that's tough. I was gonna post Thin Lizzy but I like Jailbreak,Johnny The Fox, and Black Rose. Bad Reputation gets in the way, not that it's a bad album because I think it's great. | |

I think it's great. I felt the same way with The Doors, my fav band while I think their self titled album and "STrange Days" are perfect albums, I feel that " Waiting for the Sun" while not a bad album it is not in the same league as the first two, I also agree about " Bad Reputation" great album but not as good as " Jailbreak" and " Johnny The Fox"

Excellent choices and thoses Stones albums are my favorite of their entire discography, I would add " Aftermath" but that would not fit in with theme of this thread, also a big Nick Cave fan since his Birthday Party days, as for Scott Walker I have no idea who he is.

Scott Walker is one of the most influential and enigmatic rock figures of all time, i don't really no how too describe him....he really has that great dark haunted voice like all of my other fave singers like Morrison, Hazlewood, Cohen etc. All i'll say is every time i play one of those 4 records i have to pick my jaw off the ground. Some songs..... The Old Man's Back Again http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=w0FTe15YAO0 Montague Terrace (In Blue) http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=jLOTAJQF0Fo
