DOMINCI - Trilogy Pt. 3

I never paid this band any attention because, to be honest, I always hated Charlie Dominici's vocals on the first DREAM THEATER album.

But I got this one to review and while it's your typical Prog Metal fare for the most part, I think it's quite good...loads of energy & fire. They're in no danger of being considered original by any means, but they play what they play very, very well.

Anyone else heard it?

A great album and one that was only a few spots away from my top 20 last year. Dominici's vocals have improved greatly and instead of sounding like a Geddy Lee clone he has his own sound. I would have loved to see the reunion show where he came on stage to perform with DT.

My bad, I didn't pay attention to the pt. 3 part nor did I realize it would come out so soon. I have pt. 2 and it is some good prog metal.

Not bad, better then the first DT. If I found this on the cheap I would go for it.

Excellent album. Part 2 and 3 are killer. If anyone ever stumbles upon the rare Part 1, be warned. It's all acoustic. Still very good, but totally different. I don't think Charlie originally intended to go heavy with this trilogy. Or maybe he's just weird and that was his plan all alone. Who knows! Great stuff, though.

And I personally think he'd be a better vocalist for Dream Theater.
