| Just bought these 4 DVDs on eBay for 5 bucks. Someone told me the movies were good - in a controversial way. Anyone a fan - or anything to offer ? | |

| The first Matrix film, in my opinion, is excellent. Well paced, well shot, very good acting, solid story, etc.
I've not seen the animated one, but the other two films float between "meh" and downright awful. _________________ You're cancer, you can't be the answer, you're killing me

| Yeah the first Matrix film is great. After that...meh. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I found the second one ok, not quite as good as the first but the third one was dull. | |

| I call it "The Great Arc Decay." I've never seen a trilogy so slowly, deliberately, and progressively go from great to absolute rot like these films did.
I'm also surprised to know someone who hasn't seen at least The Matrix.

| like everyone else has said, first movie was great, the other two were meh....and that's being nice e lol The first one is probably one of my all time favorite movies. Really disappointed where they went with the other two films. Never saw the cartoon. | |

| I'm in the minority here but I thought the Matrix sucked. The effects , although innovative, started an obnoxious trend in lesser movies. I never bothered with the rest. | |

| I've seen them all. The first one in a theater. I thought it was pretty good. A nice somewhat unique take on classic sci-fi concepts, and executed well. And I liked the point of view of starting from present day real world. It wasn't as good as Blade Runner, but a more grounded and visually impressive. Shit music though.
The sequels had them shuttling around in space ships etc, and it got weirder and weirder. And the characters were lifeless and special effects seemed more important than anything. Whatever. I've forgotten most about them.

| They could have had, as least, one hot chick in there. Carrie Anne Moss is haggard, in my non-nerd opinion. | |
