| Simply put, one of the best death metal albums ever IMO. I lost my first copy of this when I became a Christian because of some of the lyrics but I'm better at ignoring certain aspects of them and have been seeking this one out for a while now. I finally found it at my usual used CD store along with other albums Ive been trying to find used for quite some time now. Awesome drumming, tight bass, and haunting clean vocals totally makes up for the lack of guitar solos. For some reason, death metal without guitar solos have have bored me faster than dm with them, but that was never a problem with FF. Demanufacture is the album that gets the most attention but there was something about FF w/o the electronic sounds and the more straight forward death growls from Burton C. Bell that made this album special. Of course it's the drumming of Raymond Herrera that stands out the most on this and later albums, I forgot how good this guy is. Who else likes this underrated classic? | |

| I really like everything FF has done. Sure, some of their forays into modern groove weren't all that amazing, but overall they have a solid discography. I also really dig Soul of a New Machine, though I'm no big fan of death metal. It's all in the fact that it's a different kind of death metal album. Death metal isn't bad by default, it's the straightforward, boring nature of most of it that kills it for me. FF took that recipe and flipped it around, added some new flavors, and churned out a killer album. And the drumming is awesome. Pretty unreal that's not a drum machine, huh? |

| This was the only album they released that I liked. I wore 2 copies of this tape out when this was released. | |

| I used to own this album. Maybe I'll pick it up again someday. It was definitely heavier and darker than the material that came after this. | |

| I have the album as well. I saw them play live in Minneapolis. The only thing I don't like is the anti religion lyrics. | |

| I might as well look for this album. I had some of their later works, but never really listened to it ever. I'm just now getting into death metal. Is this a rare cd to come by? | |
