- Metal, Metal Everywhere!
I am here for an update - Here is what I know- We have 13 brand new Anthrax Songs, we have 4 (maybe 5) B-Sides. The B Sides will Be- Brain of J – Pearl Jam Big Eyes - Cheap Trick New Noise – The Refused Running Down a Dream – Tom Petty And maybe an Anvil Cover - Jackhammer?? Or maybe an Alice cover - We Die Young? The new Tunes are very strong. We have some old school thrash and some stuff that is like W.C.F.Y.A. meets S.O.W.N. This record is not forced - it is a very organic and honest representation of where we are as a band and as writers.
I hear many things nowadays that sound forced, I ain't digging that. There is a 6-minute tune called "Down Goes The Sun", I believe it is one of my favorite songs. The Music itself is epic, it sends chills up my spine. "Face with No Name", "The Devil You Know", "Earth On Hell" - all killer. “Worship Music” should be out in May.
We enter the studio on Nov 4th, the day that change comes, hahahahahahahahaha GO VOTE!! Take this Country back from these thieves that put us in this situation.
Anyone selling a black hybrid Escalade? I want one! Love to all, Charlie

Honestly, i'm not that excited either, they need to release more with the new guy to pump people up a bit.

| I am excited. Not just b/c it's Anthrax (one of my all time favorite bands), but b/c it's a new album from a band I have loved for over 20 years. I was reading the Nirvana thread on another part of this board earlier today and it got me thinking how fast artists and groups (not to mention whole movements and/ or genres) can disappear. One moment, they are burning bright, and the next they have burned out. So, to see that a band from the early 80's is still alive and metallin' is truly awesome. Peace. | |

May!?! I thought they had an album ready to go and they were just looking for a singer? Did they scrap all that material and start fresh with this new guy?

| I'll buy it. I'm not too thrilled about a fourth vocalist, but I'm a die-hard and will buy it regardless. Wish that the Belladonna reunion would have at least given us one studio album. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

I'm in that same boat. I'm not crazy over what I've heard from the new guy in those live clips, but I'm willing to give it a shot. I've liked these guys a long time. Belladonna or Bush, it's all good. Even State of Euphoria.

Agreed. But I did get to see Joey Belladonna play a solo show live earlier this year, and met him at the show.

| Here is the lastest from the Anthrax camp: Anthrax has entered a Chicago studio to begin recording its new album, tentatively titled "Worship Music," for a May 2009 release via Nuclear Blast Records (in Europe). The band will record 13 new original songs and at least four covers, including "Brain Of J" (Pearl Jam), "Big Eyes" (Cheap Trick), "New Noise" (The Refused), and "Running Down A Dream" (Tom Petty). Drummer Charlie Benante wrote in a recent online posting, "The new tunes are very strong. We have some old-school thrash and some stuff that is like 'We've Come For You All' meets 'Sound Of White Noise.' This record is not forced — it is a very organic and honest representation of where we are as a band and as writers. I hear many things nowadays that sound forced, [and] I ain't digging that. There is a six-minute tune called 'Down Goes The Sun', I believe it is one of my favorite songs. The music itself is epic, it sends chills up my spine. 'Face with No Name,' 'The Devil You Know,' 'Earth On Hell' — all killer."
Anthrax's new CD is being produced by the group's guitarist Rob Caggiano (Cradle Of Filth, Bleeding Through, Chthonic, Sahg) and will be tracked at various facilities in Chicago, Los Angeles and New York. The album will be mixed in early 2009 by Joe Barresi, who has previously worked with Tool, Queens Of The Stone Age and Satyricon, among many others.

| The new clips don't sound that impressive to me and I really don't think this will be good. The new singer sounds good if you like John Bush's style when he was in ANTHRAX but I think overall this is just gonna be a big ball of bland. | |

| The bit that I have heard, the singer sounded way to growling or cookie monster for me. I will have to hear it first, but either way I am not excited about this band anymore or the new singer. To much drama for a metal band for me. | |
