Banned From Heaven: The Gooch's Band!

The main riff is actually pretty great, very hooky. However, I personally think you overuse it in the course of the song, and the riff alone is not enough for a chorus - some vocal hook to accompany it when it repeats later on would make for a really memorable combo.

I don't actually mind the vocals that much, I have no clue what's being said, but I actually quite like their initial start. They sound a bit goth 'n' roll, sort of like The 69 Eyes. However, I am almost sure you weren't trying to go for that. I think what would help is if the vocals at some point changed from the low 'slick' sounding growl to a more middle range somewhere before the chorus.

Still, it's far from a bad first effort, I just think there's a lot more you could do with it.

in what way. he was a good guitarist actually for a kid his age. bit sloppy but far better than me at electric

thanks for that man your comment is appreicated. its just a demo after all. i think its a great basic framework for a song to work on. writing a framework and then tinkering with it could be a good method of writing for it.

i wrote the chorus before the music and the verses fit but the chorus didnt so i asked the singer to do a chorus but they just recorded what i gave them so yeah it will get a chorus

Remember Schbopo? Think he was a teenager when he first joined. He's probably 30 now. Just disappeared one day, like rattpoison. Such a weird thing, right? Makes you wonder what happened to these people who were active users and then...they just never come back.

Good timing on resurrecting this thread because I swear I was JUST browsing through an old Sevendust thread where Gooch and Eyesore were goin' at it. Some hilarious jazz in that thread, worth a bowl of popcorn haha.

I never knew the guy though, I think I came on board after he left. Maybe, I can't recall.

I miss both Ult and Krokus (Rene). Still following them on their youtube channels.

I don't think that has anything to do with MB's disappearance.  Let's just put it this way: it's probably a combination of message boards being superceded by other social media outlets coupled with(and probably more significantly) MB's state legalizing pot.

Just speculation on my part as I haven't seen the guy online anywhere in ages.  And also no judgment if my summation is correct; I might do the same thing if I lived there.

And I REALLY miss rattpoison; that guy turned me on to sooo many glam/sleaze bands I never would have even known about if he hadn't mentioned them in various threads here.

In all seriousness, I think you're right; I wouldn't be surprised if all the HoM AWOL's ditched the forum for Facebook.

It would be really cool if somebody could hook me up with MetallicBlaze again as I knew that guy pretty well "back in the day".  I'd love to reconnect with him...
