This came on last night, thought I'd check it out and see what made the list. Surprisingly, I agree with most of the choices. I was pleasantly surprised to see the ones in red on here.

any "greatest" list neglecting to include A Dangerous Meeting by Mercyful Fate, Equimanthorn by Bathory, & Circle of the Tyrants by Celtic Frost gets no respect from me.

Seen it. It sucks

They picked the most obvious songs from the most famous artist in
metal, and btw I am a Slipknot fan but they don't belong in Top 40
Greatest songs of all time.

There are some good ones but there are also some lame choices as well.

I sure miss some Riot, Exciter, Anvil, Manowar, Agent Steel and so on in that list.

Well, let's face it guys. That list could have been a lot worse.

Iron Man for number one does not surprise me cos its the riff from hell

I doubt anyone at VH1 has ever heard any of those bands. The Accept and Sepultura songs are about as "underground" as you'll get from them.

you'd think Scott Ian would have enlightened them. after all, he's employed by VH1 isn't he? i mean, he's always on there.

Agreed. It's about what I would expect from VH1; the songs are basically ranked by popularity/ album sales of the artist, instead of popularity from an actual metal community. Peace.

VH1 really likes Welcome to the Jungle, figured this list should be on the first page with the others.

It looks like a lame attempt to apeal to metal fans by someone who knows nothing obout metal

Some of those bands should NOT be in that list! These lists are horrible though. I think they hire the biggest queers to do these lists because they pick some of the gayest bands.

Most of the band's I listen to, which I see as metal bands, didn't make the list.

I don't like this list.

It could've been worse. There was no Limp Bizkit or Linkin Park.
