| Just curious on your thoughts of this band. I heard their cover of Pink Floyd's "Time" on XM Radio's Boneyard and it was awesome. Are their albums worth picking up? | |

| Their second album 3-D is a CLASSIC, absolutely brilliant metal album. The first one Climbin' The Walls (which is where the Time cover comes from) has it's moments but in all honesty it's pretty dated sounding by this point.
They changed their name to Souls At Zero after their Atlantic contract, the self-titled release is close to 3-D in quality. In fact I'd pick up all 3 of the Souls At Zero albums before getting Climbin' The Walls.
That is if you can find any of them... |

| 3-D is awesome! I like Climbin' the Walls as well, but as detuned pointed out, it does sound a bit dated at this point. | |

That is if you can find any of them... See, I'd disagree with that. I think Climbin' The Walls is great. I really like 3-D, but there were moments when I was left scratching my head. The first Souls-At-Zero album and the following EP I think are both good, but I didn't like the last one they did at all. _________________ You're cancer, you can't be the answer, you're killing me

| Have 'em all and like 'em all to varying degrees. I would agree with SideShow that Climbin' The Walls is a great disc! Arttie | |

| Only one I had owned is " Climbin' the Walls" while not a bad album, I would have to agree it is somewhat dated, but still worth exploring. | |

| Like something being dated is a bad thing. |

| The reason I say "dated" is because that album sat on the shelf for over a year while Atlantic was busy in court suing over the name "Wrathchild". By the time the album was FINALLY released the band's sound had already evolved into a much more mature mode...I heard through the grapevine that they really wanted to re-record Climbin' The Walls with some newer tracks but the label wouldn't fork out the money.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that Climbin' The Walls is terrible...it's just not the best representation of what they were capable of.
My opinion is a little biased though I must admit, they were a local band that I saw about a million times. I was also fortunate enough to be at some of the rehearsals before they went in to record 3-D. There was more talent in that one group than your average 20 bands. |

| I heard "Silent Darkness" on Pirate Radio as a teen as was blown away. I actually prefer Climbin' The Walls to 3-D. |

| I even remember a profile that one of CBS's news program did on the band before they were signed, I think the news program was entitled "West 58th or some type of name like that, it was a 20/20 , Dateline type of news program. | |

| I had the CLIMBIN THE WALLS disc back in the day but traded it away some years ago... I liked the Pink Floyd cover song _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

Yeah, you're right. I remember seeing that program. It definitely got me interested in wanting to hear them. I saw them in the middle slot on 2 killer tours. Once with Testament and Annihilator. And the other with Armored Saint and Last Crack. And then caught them once headlining. They were still billed as WA but played alot of stuff that ended up on the first Souls At Zero album. Each time I saw them play they killed. Awesome band!!!! | |
