Singer sounds like Halford/Owens. YES!!!!! Never heard these guys before...PERFECT!!!!
Thanks for this one... No problem. Unfortunately I don't own anything by them either. They're from Denmark (I think) and their cd's are a little pricey for me. But I hope to someday find them cheap. Or if I'm digging holes and happen upon a treasure chest of cd's. | |

| Another older band but Syris were very traditional metal. They produced 2 of the best Omen records that Omen never made. |

| Not much of a Tempest Reign fan. They are (were?) the only other band in my city doing the sort of thing we do, within recent times (like 2000-on). It wasn't horrible, sort of sounded like mid-paced Testament with shameless Crimson Glory influence in the leads. I just wasn't struck by the songs, and it seemed perhaps a little *too* focused in sounding a particular way. Brent from Iced Earth was on drums for a long while and unfortunately he was one of the only reasons a bunch of drooling fanboys would go to their shows. Not sure of their status now. We've tried to book shows with them before but stuff always falls through, maybe in the future sometime. | |
