| By "Traditional", obviously, I'm talking about bands who follow the template set by JUDAS PRIEST, ARMORED SAINT, SAXON, etc...simple riffs, shredding solos, screaming vocals...not trying to "out-tech" everyone else...not Power or Prog...
Listed so far:
PRIMAL FEAR
ROB ROCK
IMPELLITTERI
OCTOBER 31
WINTER'S BANE
Dark at Dawn
Onward
Beyond Fear
Immortal Avenger
Domination Black
Sinner
Dream Evil
Grave Digger
HOLY MOTHER
MOB RULES
Phoenix Reign
Rising Faith
Cryonic Temple
Tribuzy
Axenstar
Gothic Knights
Twisted Tower Dire
Seventh Avenue
Metalium
Lechery
Orden Ogan
Godiva
Gun Barrel
Sabaton
cage
Continue...

| And by not power I assume you mean not power as in Rhapsody for example, being heavily orchestrated and atmospheric, etc..? cause certainly Primal Fear and a lot of Rob Rock stuff for example is pretty power metal. | |

PF & RR have elements of Power Metal, but are not full on Rhapsody...you're correct in where I'm drawing the line. How new? Last 10 years... |

| I'll name some I think may fit.
Dark at Dawn (recommended songs: Baneful Skies, Darkened Dawn, The Road to Eternity, Don't Pay The Ferryman [cover])
Onward (recommended songs: The Kindness of Strangers, Eye of the Nightmare, Who Saw The Last Star Fall, The Last Sunset)
Skyliner (recommended songs: our whole new demo when it comes out, as it's much better and much more realized than the first, and falls pretty comfortably in this category. Symphony in Black, Vendetta, Aria of the Waters [the first two will appear in rough mix form on the CMR III CD Arttie is putting out) | |

| Beyond Fear is a good recommendation IMO.
Sinner Dream Evil Grave Digger (all of these bands are hardly new, but at least currently still putting out music that would fit into this category.) _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| If you consider Motorhead as "traditional" then I would check out High On Fire. |

| Hey, Phoenix Reign (http://www.phoenixreign.com/home.html) are traditional metal, and I highly recommend them. BTW, my recommendation is not biased by my crush on their singer Theresa.

How can you have a "man crush" on a girl? That would make it a "girl crush"... |
