Anybody Actually Like Lock Up The Wolves?

Its a good record to me, but I haven't heard it in a long time. I know the guitar work was great. I'll have to break this one out again.

When it first came out, I HATED it, but I like it quite a bit now. Destroys Angry Machines....

Ok, I missed this thread. So far I still think it's in the bottom two, haven't heard enough of Angry Machines to make the call though. Some lp's take a long time to grow on me, or for me to "get."

I love " Lock Up the Wolves" very slow and dark gothic sound almost in the Black Sabbath tradition than Dio's other solo albums, they released "Wild One" as a single which in my opinion was a mistake, to me that was one of the weaker tracks.

Not Dio's best album, and not Dio's worst, that dubious honor goes to "Angry Machines" which I used to detest but now I find enjoyable but still his worst release.

I would say that "Strange Highways" is the dark and brooding lp, and very underrated!

Dio could sing the phone book and I'd love it...

I would agree with that statement, especially "Hollywood Black" and " Eviloution"

I agree with this, "Angry Machines" is just not an enjoyable album, and I've read where Dio thinks it's the worst he's put out. I also enjoy much more the guitar playing of Rowan Robertson to that of Tracy G.

I've seen plenty of interviews with Dio, and he certainly doesn't mind telling people how he feels. Man did he give it to Ritchie Blackmore!!! Then when he mistakenly said Ozzy (or did he mistakenly mention his name?), and take a jab at him. Then gave it to Geezer and Tony!!!

I can't access You Tube at work, but no love lost between Dio and Vivian Campbell!!!! If that is video where Dio tells a fan he wishes Vivian would die, at least he did not go erasing Campbell's guitar tracks unlike a certain other Black Sabbath vocalist has done.

Someone posted that Vivian bashing video a long time ago here. I like hearing Dio when he's pissed. I respect that man so much because he sounds like he gives everyone a fair shake, but people have ended up screwing him over through the years.

He's right about Tony and Geezer, they blew it in 92. They should've had more respect for Dio than to ask him to open for Ozzy! There could've been some great Sabbath lp's w/that line-uo again, as it is we got some more very good Dio lp's and one good and one lame Sabbath lp. Took them clowns 15 years to get it right again!
