Your Favorite Heavy Metal Debut Album?

Mine is W.A.S.P.'s S/T debut.

Wow, what a monster album. Every song is a classic and it just grabs a hold and doesn't let go. Even the "ballad" "Sleeping (In The Fire)" is beautifully haunting and at the same caustic in its approach. If you haven't heard this album, wow you are truly missing out on one of the true gems of the genre.

Speed Kill Hate is the first one that comes to mind.
The first Grip Inc got a lot of play time at my house too.

The Godz. It has plenty of competition though.

Overkill's FEEL THE FIRE and/or Metallica's KILL'EM ALL (I can't decide!)

Deliverance-S/T.

Nothing matches the greatness of this melodic thrash masterpiece,IMO.
Although Living Sacrifice's S/T comes close.

Was just listening to this album earlier tonight...man this thing holds up beautifully for a record that was recorded in 1 day on an 8-track Ampex recorder. Black Sabbath, The Wizard, N.I.B, Wicked World, Warning...nuff said.

Metallica-Kill em' all. Easily my favorite Tallica album

The Warning shouldn't count as a debut, since "Queensryche" came out the year before. But they are both great albums....

Semantics...

An "album" is a collection of material...no matter what the length. An "LP" is a "long playing" record.

I saw the title of this thread and my first thought was WASP too but after reading throgh it there are so many more that were mentioned that are pretty dang good. That first Van Halen and Kill em All are great albums too. The first Iron Maiden really kicked my ass when I bought it back in 1982, I still like it as much today. Holy Diver is another that I thought was one of the best.

It's a toss up between Testament's The Legacy and Flotsam and Jetsam's debut.

I guess I didn't think of it as a "debut", after Elf, Rainbow, and Heaven and Hell, but I guees it was.
Also, if the Queensryche EP counts, I have to mention that (I think it should).
