Anyone a fan of classical music? I like Beethoven and Mozart, and I'm partial to Bach and Wagner.

You have good taste, my friend.
Wagner and Beethoven in particular are very metal.
Personally, I was influenced by both Mozart and Bach.... kind of like..... Moch!!

I like classical music however, I am not expert no can I tell you what song is attributed to what composer. Also I have to be in a certain mood to listen to it.

I like to play Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries" when I'm raining down fire on charlie, but other than that, I don't have much knowledge of classical music.

To me, classical music is Elvis Presley, but I do enjoy some Mozart now and then.

Great flick!

I don't consider myself a fan of classical music but I am a fan of selected classical pieces. Vivaldi's Four Seasons, Beethoven's Moonshine Sonata, Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D minor or Carl Orff's Carmina Burana are classics.

I enjoy Strauss and Tchacovsky... I'm a sucker for the sweeping waltzes, what can I say! I also like the piano, and enjoy Chopin and Rachmaninov.

I'm a fan of classical music. I grew up on it, maybe that's why I'm such a fan of power metal and progressive metal. A mutated son of classical music.
As composers go, my top few are Wagner, Grieg, and Ives.

As a music educator by profession, I am very fond of classical music. Had to study quite a bit of it in college, actually! Take a listen to Stravinsky's Rite of Spring some time. You can actually headbang to that one! I like Beethoven and Bach and am partial to the Russians. Mussourgsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Tschaikovsky, Awesome stuff!

Might as well resurrect this puppy from the dead, it's on my been 11 years. Just got done watching this masterpiece, and so I thought I'd see if there were any fans here.
The song above, is first rate freakin epic thrash metal lol The last twelve minutes is pure genius. The whole song is pure genius, but I've always loved the last half over the first half.
Wish I knew more about the classical composers, besides the popular stuff. I keep meaning to delve deeper, but not really sure where to start. Favorites include the usual suspects, Beethoven, Back, Mozart etc, but always looking for others lesser known composers.
What you got? You guys are all old farts like me, you must have some favorites. Let's hear them, post ' em up long hairs!

Same for me. My brother owns a huge classical music cd collection. I used to grab one to listen to from time to time. Been a while though.

I dig it, my wife is a professional flutist so it's always raining Vivaldi in here.
Curious as to why this isn't in the other forum? Not that I really care much, just curious. It is true that Classical can get pretty metal at times.

One of the most epic things ever:
Carmina Burana. I feel this is the kind of stuff that inspired epic power metal (together with the American blues-based hard rock of the 60's, of course).

What appreciation I have comes basically from 3 sources: Looney Tunes, Monty Pythons Flying Circus and heavy metal.
I will say again that thanks to the band At Vance I learned to really appreciate Vivaldi and thanks to Bugs Bunny and Therion I also really l dig Wagnerian opera.
