absolutely.

I was also pretty impressed with what I heard of "Dante XI". I've not picked it up yet, but it's on the list.

My first choice is Arise because of the music and the AWESOME album cover! Followed by Chaos A.D. and Beneath The Remains. I wasn't very impressed with Roots and after Max left I never listened to much of the later stuff (not that what I've heard is bad, but it doen't interest me that much).

Their early stuff is more traditional thrash, in the vein of "Reign in Blood" era Slayer.

They got more tribal as they went on - til they finally fell completely of the thrash metal map and into their own little world.

Their latest is 'kind of' a return to form though.

I got most of the Derrick Green stuff from exact last week. Wow, Like McDonald's, I'm lovin' it. It doesn't compare to Schizo, Arise or Beneath, but its a different band now (literally). I think all their stuff is damn good minus the debut.

Schizophrenia for me, but I loved them up to Chaos AD.

Those are really the only ones that I would still listen to. Although I would add that Blood Rooted compilation, there's some great live tracks and cover tunes on there.

After Max left I was done.

At first I thought they were the biggest piece of crap I'd ever listened to, but I was hooked after listening to nothing but Refuse/resist for 2 hours. Anyway, I vote for Chaos, as it was the one that got me into them.

I loved that album so much when it came out, I thought...COOL...a new direction for metal to explore, mixing world music influences...then they broke up right afterward.

I voted for Morbid Visions.

It has the same effect on me as Voivod's "RRROOOAAARRR" its balls-out recorded in 30 minutes thrash metal with god-awful production and usally I hate that but in some cases I think bad production can make a record better. This is defently one of those cases

It also got some of the best songs Sepultura has ever written IMO

chaos A.D. only one I've really heard

Arise

I like Chaos AD but it seems to have some filler songs compared to Arise, BTR and Schizophrenia.

Pulled out ROOTS today! Not sure why so many Sepultura fans hate that album. It has an infectious groove and some killer percussion work. The title track is MONSTER song! Can't help but move when that one is crankin'.
