Smurf you. No. He's right. Hey, I'll buy a new Metallica album, but I'll never be half as excited about it as I would about new 'deth.

Hey, I'll buy a new Metallica album, but I'll never be half as excited about it as I would about new 'deth. I was kidding. Haha. But as much as I've liked recent Megadeth albums, Cryptic Writings is the last album that I feel had truly memorable songs. The recently albums have songs of the moment, good while they're on, but forgotten almost immediately. |

If it wasn't for the Metallica diehards their new stuff would probably suffer the same fate.

I need to go out and buy the new Metallica... I guess... I think I'd rather get the new Iced Earth!

From what I have heard of Death Magnetic and having given All Hope Is Gone many repeated listens, I can honestly say that Metallica's album is far greater than anything Slipknot has or ever will put out.

I've pretty negative lately huh. lol Even over Risk? I don't know, I like Cryptic Writings. I think they peaked on Youthanasia, though. I also don't really care for most of the pre-Rust In Peace stuff. |

What makes you say this? (Mind you I've never heard it. I like Countdown and United Abominations and I'm 50/50 on R.I.P)

What makes you say this? (Mind you I've never heard it. I like Countdown and United Abominations and I'm 50/50 on R.I.P) I just think it's their most consistent album. Nearly every song is killer, except "A Tout Le Monde." I'm biased, though; it's my favorite. That's not to say I don't like their other albums. |

I agree that Youthansia is their best, but I still think they've put out good (Risk, TWNAH), really good (Cryptic, UA) and great albums (TSHF) since. I'm not even a big fan of RIP. RIP and before is okay, but my true love for Megadeth begins with Countdown.

| I have heard all 3 new albums mentioned. (IE, Met, Slipknot) and I like them all. I think that "Death Magnetic" is likely the best of the three. It's musically far more capable than the others and shows the most musicianship, Kirk shreds, Lars goes f*cking nuts, James sounds great though Rob gets way too little attention for all the talent he has, he's probably the most talented bassist they've had, granted if Cliff were still alive he would easily be a god among bassists. Slipknot's is great too, the songs are more structured than they had ben in the past, making for a more balanced album than they usually put out, but with that, there's also a severe lack of Joey going crazy on the drums and for the most part, less creativeness losing some of the dynamicness that made them so great to begin with. Iced Earth's album was kind of a letdown when I first heard it. Easily one of my favorite bands ever. Many songs sound too similar, the musicianship isn't what it used to be, though it has it's moments, and though Barlow sounds like he hasn't missed a beat, he seems too underutilized this time around. I like it, it just doesn't live up to the Iced Earth name quite like it should. maybe it'll grow on me, but for now it's my least favorite IE cd. |

| A little off topic but its about metallica. Does anyone have any Metallica bootlegs? Im looking for a specific one. Actually im just looking for one song. It is on a Garage Days bootleg either #4, or #5. Its the song "one" but it has the talking in it just like the video. My brother had the bootleg but with the way he takes care of his cds its either long gone or scratch to the point of no return. If anyone has it can you let me know and send me a mp3? Preferablly high quality. Thanks!! Your good friend PRD | |
