So, whadda think of Mindfunk "Dropped" and Mental Hippie Blood "Pounds"? Lagging grunge imitators or prescient Nu-metal visionaries, or other?

Eyesore, this is crazy. I've gone the other way around. I just recently sold back about 400 of my CD's. I'm still an addict though.

I used to own Mental Hippe Blood's album, but sold it off in the Great Make Space In The Dorm Room Sell-Off. I liked it back then, but it got the ax. I would actually say they were more of a bridge between grunge and nu-metal.

Mindfunk, however, got one spin and I haven't listened again. I wasn't blown away, so I set it on the simmer shelf. I'll listen again soon.

I've never been this crazy with buying stuff. The reason for this is this forum! Not kidding. I discovered lala.com because of NLTM. Because of that site I discovered SwapaCD. Then all the trading that goes on here has gotten me a bunch of albums. I still get the free albums for reviewing, and now that so many are going digital, they've been selling their albums so I've been finding a ton a great, cheap deals at the local used shops.

But hey, I could be smoking crack. Haha.

Yeah. Even though I've tapered off this year, I don't regret my past CD addiction at all. If you can afford it, go for it.

i sell nothing but buy alot... not as much as you apparently. i'm still about 180 behind you thus far.

Eyesore may disagree but I think its hard to enjoy a large amount of CDs. At least it is for me. 500 is a good manageable amount for a collection.

It all depends on the person. I sleep about 6 hours a night. The hours I'm awake, I have music playing. I don't have kids, a wife, a girlfriend, friends...damn...my life sucks. Anyway, seriously, though; I wake at 10am most days and turn on the music. Then I head to work around 11:30, and turn on the music in my truck. At work, the music is playing all day long, 10 hours, until 11pm. Then I'm back in the truck with the music going. I get home around 11:30pm. From about 12 to 4am, I'm sitting at my PC writing, listening to music. Then I got to bed.

Plenty of time for music. But it's also not always about being able to listen to everything often. If I wish to listen to something, it's there, I have it. That's part of it, even if it's been two years since I gave it a spin. Plus I have the money and I'm really not spending that much. Those 500 CDs might have cost me $1,000. I have friends that spend $200 a week on beer. Haha. No thanks on that.

I listen to music constantly as well. Not all the time, but at least 10 hours a day. My big issue is storage. I can't store anymore CDs. The 1500 I have are strewn around the house. I would really like to see your storage situation, Eyesore. You know, just out of curiosity.

I've gone a week or so. Haha. Last year was the first time I ever really bought tons of albums. Last year I received over 1,000. So that's 1,500 in a year and a half. And I probably traded out 700, give or take, so the collection didn't really grow in size since I was doing a little give and take. Before that, though, it took me 15 years or so to reach 4,000 plus.

So only in the past year and a half have things gotten a little silly.
