So I went to the 3 Inches of Blood show last night. Man, it was freakin' awesome! It was at a local night club called Sugar, which is pretty small. Yet, the place was packed to the point that you could hardly move.
The pit was wicked intense. I, being not the biggest guy around (like 160 lbs), was just flying all over the place. There was this one really big guy who was going nuts. He pretty much determined the flow of the mosh.
As for the band's performance: phenominal. The acoustics were excellent. I've never felt double-bass go through my legs like that. The playing was tight; they kept the speed going without ever missing any notes. The band was so rambunctious. I thought it was really cool that the bassist was wearing a shirt with Running Wild's Under Jolly Roger. Killer.
I was surprised to see the mix of people. It was mostly the expected folk, but there were some Gap/Abercrombie and Fitch -looking people. Not that there's anything wrong with that. It's just interesting to note.
HEAVY METAL RULES!!!
