and we all know that MTV is the authority on heavy metal.

I like Kiss, but I never understood why they get labelled as metal

Not a bad list.

Some very influential bands on that list. I might have put Kiss higher than Pantera, but otherwise a decent list.

Because you're 16 and you weren't around the heavy metal revolution of the 1970's that KISS was a part of. There's an informative thread in the R.I.P. room called "1970's American Heavy Metal". Check it out.

I am happy with all the bands on the list only PANTERA should not be on it but thats just my opinion. I know they have influenced many bands of today but i never liked them (only their first 4 albums from the 80s)

Got that right. When you give "Honorable Mention" to Venom, Anthrax, Van Halen, Megadeth, Sepultura, Tool (?), and Mercyful Fate, and yet list Motley Crue and Pantera in the top ten, you are an "expert."
