- I actually can get into As I Lay Dying ok. Some decent riffing. The rest of the list are a waste of time.
As I Lay Dying is ok IMO as well and as far as Underoath, I really enjoyed The Changing of Times with it's mix of death, black, along with emo. With that album they were truly unique and stood out from the rest but then They're Only Chasing Safety came out and it was just another crappy clone of an annoying genre.

| Voivod is criminally underrated. Most of my friends who are into metal don't like them because of their general weirdness. And then a lot of their fans give them flak for their frequent creative turns. Being French Canadian doesn't help either, even though Montreal has always had a pretty good underground music scene. |

| I prefer to not get my panties in a bunch when someone disses a favorite of mine. That just leaves more for me to enjoy. People in America en masse seem to have questionable taste in everything from music (rap, Toby Keith, Ozzy, GNR, Nightwish) to humor (that guy who says GIT R DUN alot, a TV show that features questions that would be appropriate for primary school children (hilarious!)) so I find that generally someone's opinion is usually smurf poo. |

And you have much better reasons for your bunched panties. Like when the restaurant used some other brand of ketchup beside Hunts. |

That reminds me of the time that I entered a Denny's in Orlando with underwear on. As I was eliminating gas from my system after the meal, I seem to have let loose the ass Kraken and soiled myself a wee bit. I sacrificed a pair of tighty whities in the men's room that night. |

| DragonForce Cradle of Filth Nightwish I love these three bands madly, and honestly couldn't care less if people think lesser of me for it. | |

If you only listened to bands because others like them or you don't listen to bands because others hate them then you are not a music fan. Many times talent is in the eye of the beholder. After watching X-Men with my fellow navy guys, I mentioned that the best actors were Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen. My supervisor said Ian was a horrible actor. While many people would agree with me that he is a good actor to that one person didn't. Talent is not something you can measure most of the time, it is all up to the individual's opinion. As long as a band has fans, that band will thrive. Listen to what you like and to hell with other peoples' opinions. That is the one view point every one of us should have in common or you shouldn't call yourself a metal fan.
