| (1.) AC/DC (by far my favourite....Back in Black is the album that turned my world upside down upon listening to it....rock'n'roll is my religion, AC/DC is my God, and Back in Black is my Holy Bible)
(2.) KISS (oh man, I freakin' worship these guys)
(3.) Aerosmith (more so for their material up to and including RIAHP, but the post-DWM material would still land these guys at the third slot)
(4.) Judas Priest (how can you get any more metal than these guys?)
(5.) Led Zeppelin (one of my collection's founding groups)
(6.) Metallica (this is really for my extreme love of Lightning, Puppets, and Justice.....but Kill Em' All is insanely wicked and the Black Album is awesome...after that......)
(7.) Rolling Stones (their material from 68-82 is pure classic rock)
(8.) The Doors (another of my early bands)
(9.) Iron Maiden (Number of the Beast, along with Paranoid, was my second metal album)
(10.) Motorhead (Ace of Spades was my first metal album) |

| My current favorite "band" is Plumb (Tiffany Arbuckle Lee). Looking at my CD collection it looks like I really like Tourniquet, Deliverance, Bride and Petra. Add Seventh Angel to that list. I really enjoyed both their albums. A lot. A lot alot. Believer, too. Bloodgood was great for their first two and last one. Love Les Carlsen on vocals. Others of note (but worth mentioning): Chris Rice, Brad Paisley, Travis Tritt, Montgomery Gentry, ZOEGirl. . . (I'm not kidding) |

I like rubber bands the best. Although I use hair bands a lot to tie back my hair. Rubber bands have more of a nostalgic sense and can easily be shot at disliked passerbyers. | |

| Hmmmm, looks like I may be on the wrong site! I saw only one poster mention ANY Black MeTal.....the rest looks pretty much thrash and power(and, oddly, many of the same bands). I can't stress the importance of this enough, Brothers and Sisters of True MeTal: DIVERSIFY!!!!! Use forums like this to read about and discover new bands (even if they're OLD bands!)....like I saw quite a few people list Sodom......where's Destruction and Kreator? And what about Death Row? Don't stop at the bands that are "easy" to find material by......keep in mind that many bands (for a specific example, use the Sodom/Kreator/Destruction connection) are often mentioned in the same breath, and for good reason. So if you like one such band, check out the others (which is why these "favourite" lists can be helpful). You will see on my "favourite" list that many of the bands have similar directions but with wildly different executions: 1)Limbonic Art 2)Destruction 3)Marduk 4)Iron Maiden 5)Sodom 6)Funeral Mist 7)My Dying Bride 8)1349 9)The Cure (gloomy albums only, NOT the happy-disco albums!) 10)UFO 11)Bathory 12)Forgjord(new band, worthy to be on a "favourite" list; incredible songwriting!) 13)Misfits (there are no "real" Misfits, as I saw someone mention before, just as there is no "real" Iron Maiden; just because Danzig TOLD you he wrote all those songs and did everything doesn't make it true! There is some material on the Graves-era albums that is much better than the Danzig-era, for fans of the BAND and not just the one guy who was in the band. Of course, there are some Maiden fans out there who swear that they won't listen to anything but the DiAnno material...and the rest of us know what they've missed out on!) I would also have Deathspell Omega and Katatonia on the list, but I don't like the direction their newer material is going: (Deathspell Omega too progressive, and Katatonia too rock/pop). |

I think we have a lot of diversity on this site, actually moreso than on many other metal forums I frequent. I listed Sodom on my list, but I also mentioned Kreator and Accuser. I doubt you will find a board with more eclectic and obscure tastes in thrash metal than here. Shoot, I have everything on my list from Yes to Grave Digger to Mortification to Place of Skulls on my list, and that is just a sampling of some of my favorite bands. Never have been a big black metal fan, but there are plenty of those here. Kmorg and MC666 come to mind immediately. Anyhow, welcome the Heart of Metal forum. Perhaps, as you suggested, you too will discover some new metal bands you weren't familiar with before. We welcome the diversity in taste. ult _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| Yeah, Ultmetal.....I hope I will be able to learn about different bands here, too. Your post made me remember that I have a coupla Gravedigger records laying around that I should "dig" out! Mentioning Mortification, didn't one of those guys start an extremely heavy doom band called Paramecium? Anybody know anything about them? I have one cassette, and it was incredibly, like a much heavier My Dying Bride. Ya know, looking at all these lists had made me remember a lot of bands I've totally forgotten about! Maybe there's such a thing as listening to TOO much music..............NAH! |

| Paramecium are a doom/death band founded by Andrew Tompkins. Former Mortification drummer Jayson Sherlock performed with Paramaecium for a few years shortly after leaving Mortification. Jayson also record under the HORDE moniker.
You can read about Paramaecium here:
