Your Favourite Band!

Well, I've been posting on this site now for a couple of months and I realised today that I really don't know anyone on this site very well.

In the spirit of getting to know my fellow metal brothers a bit better I would like to know what your favourite bands are.

For me my favourite band of all time is Iron Maiden. I'm a bit of a nut job when it comes to this band and my house is full of crap I've bought with the iron maiden name on it (Thank god i'm not a Kiss fanatic).

I tend to prefer the traditional metal syle with my other favourite bands being Judas Priest and saxon. I love prog metal, bands like Dream Theater, Symphony X and Fates Warning, and Queensryche and also A lot of Thrash and Death Metal.

I have quite a wide taste actually and what I listen to depends on my moods.

Wow, a lot of really cool bands. I like most of the ones on your list. I noticed you put Lion. What a cool band I have only recently purchased Dangerous Attraction and Trouble In Angel City from Ebay. Paid a hefty price for dangerous attraction but I've been looking for a mint copy of that album for ages.

My favorite, favorite bands ever...bands of which I never tire:

King's X (all of it)
The Beatles (from Help! onward)
Journey (classic era 77-86)
Katatonia (from Discouraged Ones onward)
Fates Warning (Ray Alder era)
U2 (all of it)

Lots of other bands I "really like"...but these are the absolute top of the heap for me...

Nice, I'm a bit of Journey fan myself Everything from Escape onwards. Haven't really investigated anything earlier. I'm also glad you prefer the Ray Alder stuff ith fates warning. I see a lot of posts mentioning the John Arch era. I don't really like those first 3 albums, their ok but to me they ound like a band trying to ard to be a cross between queensryche and iron maiden. Once Ry Alder joined they really started to explore their progressive side.

Cool list Ultmetal. I see accept and U.D.O on your list. I have just started to get in these recently. I have purchased restless and Wild and Balls to the Wall by accept and Mastercutor by U.D.O. All great albums.

I think this is the most diverse taste in music I have ever come across. Good to see a fellow Saxon fan. This band do not get anywhere near the recognition they deserve, a truly great band and their last 3/4 albums are simply awesome trad heavy metal.

Ashame Wedding Party didn't last that long.

Bride's LIVE TO DIE album was my favorite christian metal album I have ever heard. Hey, they even think Iron Maiden on the album. the last track, HEROES, is like a Hallowed be thy name rip off, but I forgive them.
