| Whose solo stuff is your choice? Ty has done some good stuff and I love Rock Garden. |

| Ty's solo work, hands down. I never could "get" any of Doug's stuff. |

| Ty's work is the only King's X solo stuff I've heard (2 cdr's), so I can't honestly compare. But I will say that I enjoy it MORE than King's X. I've tried with those guys, but nothing ever clicked with me. | |

| Doug's stuff is the best. I love Ty's work, but it's a little too fruity sometimes. |

| I've only ever heard one or two songs by Ty Tabor, which were on a metal blade compilation. "Hollow Eyes" really turned me off of pursuing it any further. I love King's X though. | |

| This is one band I just don't get. I love Gretchen Goes To Nebraska but other than that I find Kings X to be a major snoozefest. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Ty's stuff is like lighter King's X with only one of King's X's singers. I like Ty's stuff more because of it's overt Beatles sweetness and harmless harmonies. Moonflower Lane is my particular favourite. Although if were talking project rather than solo than Supershine crushes it all. Love that album. | |

Yes. An excellent project. I really want the...(gotta break it up, because it sounds dumb otherwise)...The Mob disc. Sax says it's 80s metal! I want that one bad. |

| Yeah i heard it's good it also involves Reb Reach (Winger) and Kelly Keagy (Night Ranger) so you know where it's going sound wise. | |

| Yeah - The Mob is awesome - But my fav is dUg's latest, "Strum Sum Up". I am usually more humble, but I would consider myself a King's X expert (They are my favorite "band" anyways). Strum Sum Up absolutely blew me away!!!!! I know it won't happen, but I hope "Go Tell Somebody" (April 1 can't get here fast enough!!!) leans Pinnicks direction this time around, and they go back to the groove-laden, off-time, soulfull layered harmonies.
I also think NSP is way under-rated. Nobody ever talks about that one. |

| I was a huge fan until after Ear Candy. Ogre Tones has some good songs but also some filler. For some reason I can't get into Dug solo. I miss Ty's guitar. |

| Yeah - Once they started doing all the side-projects with other artists and influences, the King's X sound got a bit dilluted. It all still rules, but I agree, thier most enjoyable work together as a band was pre-Ear Candy. Totally unique, influential, and ground-breaking!!!! And the live shows are still spiritual experiences. I have never known, or been into, another band that has such a solid connection with thier fans. Completely down to earth - no rock star persona whatsoever. Plus, there are not many bands that have been together 25+ years, with no member-changes from day one. Sorry, for gushing. I'll talk all day about KX!!!! |

| The live experience is almost crucial with these guys. The first time I saw them it was truly like entering a different realm of what concerts could be. I have seen them three times and each show was amazing. What was with, Please Come Home Mr. Bulbous Head? |

I really want to see them live. I never have. I actually sort of lost touch with them when Ear Candy came out. It did nothing for me. Eventually I sold everything off in the Air Force when I needed to make room when living in tiny dorm rooms. I started collecting them again a few years ago, and all of a sudden I loved Ear Candy. Now I love it all. I had to grow my ears out a bit. Glad they didn't break up like they said they might a few years back, when downloading albums became really common. |

| I think Tapehead is their greatest album imo. So i don't usually tow the party line that their material started lacking after Ear Candy. | |

I really like Manic Moonlight, believe it or not. I think that might be my favorite. I love the experimentation on that one. Plus, I think the melodies are some of the best they've done. |

| King's X have never released a "bad" album either as a band or solo/part of a project. Some albums are more immediate than others, but all of them have something substantial to offer. And I agree with Saxon about seeing them live...seen them 6 times myself and each one has been an amazing experience. When the crowd starts singing the chorus to "Over My Head" over & over again, and the band stops playing and just watches us smiling, then dUg jumps in the crowd and begins ad-libbing vocals in between our chants...it's an AMAZING experience!! |

| Both Jelly Jam records are very good... My favorite Ty solo project would be "Ice Cycles" from PLATYPUS... |

F***in incredible...and I got to hang and chat with Doug (DUG) a while...very cool cat!!!
And I was introduced to an incredible unknown opening act called GALACTIC COWBOYS....
I keep eyeing that used copy of THE MOB at the shop, I think tomorrow I may suck it up and nab it.... _________________ "Oh man, I need TV? When I got T Rex"

You fag! Wish I'd mentioned I wanted that CD before this thread was created. Haha. If you see another copy, snag one for me. And I call dibs if you dislike it. |
