| I thought we already had a poll up for the best/fave DIO solo album but I didn't find one on the search. Here's my top 3:
1. Angry Machines 2. Strange Highways 3. Master Of The Moon

2. Last In Line 3. Dream Evil Great top 3! I recently listened to the early DIO albums for the first time in a long time and forgot how good all three of those albums are. I had gotten burned out on the first two just by hearing the major songs from them on the radio that I neglected the albums as a whole. The deep cuts are equally as good.

Holy Diver is the obvious choice. It's a heavy metal classic.

But good for you, I guess. I never could get into it. I think because of my love for Doom and Stoner so the downtuned, dirge-y stuff with thick bass and well-placed drum fills on that album make it #1 for me. That trifecta of Dehumanizer, Strange Highways and Angry Machines is just Do you like Lord Weird Slough Feg? They are probably the only "stoner" band I really like. I'm usually into straight forward, melodic, FAST stuff.

To be honest I haven't listened to them before. I've heard of them but never jammed them. What do you recommend for starters?

Should probably ask the more knowledgeable fans about recommendations. I only own Traveller, but it's great. And they are only "stoner" in quotation marks. I just hear a lot of stoner elements, and that's as close to stoner I can get. It's traditional riff-oriented heavy metal. Going back to Dio, I have Doug Aldrich probably in my top 10 favourite guitarists ever. Too bad he only did one album with Dio. But those live DVDs are both awesome.

| I'll need to buy a couple of Dio albums first and get back to you on this one. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

There's exactly ten Dio studio albums. Angry Machines sits firmly at #10 unless the hologram decides to release a new CD.
