IT was? What label? I had read that it was initially only available on vinyl. ult

| Dude, I think you should write a bit more on Fly By Night (Rush), I mean what an album, personally I think it's a masterpiece, every song. I've only got up to 2112/All The Worlds a Stage in the Rush catalogue for now, because I get albums only in chronological order and over a space of at least a month per new album for each band, so I won't have Snakes & Arrows til about a year and a half from now. So I don't know exactly how good the next albums are and don't want to hear a new Rush song until the next album I get. So maybe you just wrote little on Fly By Night because you think the next albums are much better (is it possible!?) But seriously I mean every song is brilliant! and then there's By-tor & The Snowdog, quite possibly one of the most complete songs I have ever heard, and then the soft mellowness of Rivendell (agggh the whole album's crazy!!!). But you know man the whole thing is set out perfectly as well, as in the songs are well layed out if you know what I mean. Also Rush's debut is awesome as well, maybe not a masterpiece, but regardless an astonishing piece of music. This is to Scott btw Peace |

| After reading your review for Devil Riding Shotgun i checked out their music and i think you should add something to the review... The fact that they sound like a stoner version of Danzig! Even the cover art has Danzig's face on it. Good band btw. | |

| i think kmorgs review of great southern trendkill is slightyl harsh as it actually has some really good riffs on it despite phils aggressive vocal style although i have to agree reinventing the steel is a rubbish album | |

| Pantera is one band that just never did much for me. I thought their early albums were great. Use to have a couple of them on vinyl back in the day. I also thought Cowboys from Hell was great. After that I just lost interest. Not sure why.
Kmorg digs them a lot though. His site balances out mine quite nicely.

Ditto. CFH was the last Pantera album I bothered with too... _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

Thats the only Pantera album that I won't buy. I've tried numerous times to listen to it on a tape and finally decided I hate it. I love everything else though.

| Not a disagreement, but you might want to fix a couple of typos that I saw in your latest Metal Metropolis update, Kmorg (from the review of the "ARGH!" sampler from R.E.X. Records) They singed many of the harder bands in the Christian metal scene, but they also had the softest of the rock bands in their rooster I think you meant "signed" and "roster" _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| Scotty!!!! Now (mouth still moving) you (mouthing long Japanese words) you must (yawwnn) fight me (keeps talking silently)!!! LIVING SACRIFICE - Conceived in Fire Your review: I decided to hold off buying this disc as I was not impressed with "The Hammering Process". I decided to pick it up after reading several stellar reviews. Several reviews said this was the band's best disc ever. Another review I read said that "Conceived in Fire" was a return to the band's thrash metal roots. This couldn't be further from the truth. In reality, "Concieved in Fire" is very similar in style to the metalcore and hardcore of "The Hammering Process." I don't know, perhaps I was just setting my goals to high after being so impressed with "Reborn", but I find this album to be boring. It's certainly heavy, and the musicianship is quite good as well, but overall the songs all sound the same and the vocals are especially monotonous. As with "The Hammering Process" I decided to give this disc several spins to see if it would grow on me with time, but so far, it just doesn't have the same infectious songwriting that "Reborn" had. Killer cover art. Okay, first, I totally agree that whoever wrote those said reviews must have been smoking crack on "returning to their thrash roots". That's silly right there. But once again, I think you have a case of the dreaded metalcore jitters. If you listen to this CD along side say, SACRIFICIUM - Escaping the Stupor or even Reborn by LS. I don't hear allot of differences. And I don't see Reborn as metalcore at all. Sounds like death and progressive death metal to me. Even as I listened to Inhabit and Nonexistent today, there is a consistency in sound as far as awesome guitar work and drumming and even song structure that I easily recognize in CIF. I guess the new guys voice somewhat resembles some metalcore voices. But, I just overall (with the exception of The Hammering Process - never heard it) would not classify new era LS as Metalcore. I know many would disagree! I like allot of good metalcore and they just don't have that sound to me. And I also think every song stands alone on CIF. Symbiotic, 3x3, Black Seeds, Martyr. All killer to me all unique. I like the hushed, angry vocals on Black Seeds. Very cool! This is just overall one of my favorite death cd's and I'm surprised you don't like it. And NO, you are not entitled to your own tastes! Peace brother! | |
